Does George Strait get too much credit?

Don’t get me wrong, he’s iconic. One of the all time greats. It just doesn’t make sense how he’s viewed as the end all be all in his craft. He didn’t even write any of his songs.
There’s so many other guys that don’t seem to get nearly the amount of attention. Case in point, Alan Jackson.

So many of his songs just stick in my brain. He is an outstanding vocalist. Any other artist attempting to claim the the throne will hear, “Well excuuuse me but I think you got…my chair”

Dude had like 60
#1 hits.
No artist, ever, will come close to topping that.
It’s insurmountable.

Anyone who doesn’t write their own songs is interchangeable mediocrity.

I could go with Alan Jackson was underrated

Yeah!!! And throw in those bums Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Whitney Houston, and myriad others that didn’t write their own music. Why did they get so much credit?

Yes. He was fed good songs. Couldn't write a decent one on his own.

Ummm ok but keep it OT what does his butthole taste like?

Nothing or no one can touch - Achy, Breaky Heart...

No. The longevity of his career. Very few come close to making hits as long as he has. Who else in country music has?

The success speaks for itself:

It depends. I like George Strait. As a performer, vocalist, an iconic Texan, etc.
I don't consider him much of a musician or artist. So I'm happy to give him loads of credit, but I do put him in a different category from others I like.

His concerts were total snooze fests... so I vote yes.

Can he actually play his guitar or does he just stand there with it?

Good song, but he sang someone else's song.
He was nothing but a cover band.
