Can You Prevent ICE from Entering Your Home with no Warrant?

THIS IS A REAL QUESTION.
IM NOT TRYING TO DEBATE ICE OR TRUMP OR IMMIGRATION.
ICE shows up at your house wanting in.
You ask and they tell you they do not have a warrant.
You ask them why they want in. They say they can go anywhere they want. It’s not an emergency, they say. But they think they have the right to search your house without a warrant because they damn well please.
(In other words, it is clearly an illegal search.)
You have nothing to hide. Yet you don’t want anyone in your house illegally.
(Don’t fight the hypo; most of us would just let them in by consent.)
Can you resist? Can you use force?
I’m really asking. I wouldn’t do it, but is it my right?

Sure, give that a shot. They’ll sing songs about you in the streets at night.

Are you housing known criminal illegals? Then no you can't stop them

A January 2026 internal ICE memo indicates that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents may now assert authority to forcibly enter homes without a judicial warrant, relying instead on administrative warrants to apprehend individuals with final removal orders. This policy shift allows entry to known addresses of individuals subject to removal, potentially bypassing the need for a warrant signed by a judge.

Not my point, jackass.
The question is not whether it’s wise. It isn’t.
But is it my right?
I have the right to stand my ground and use force against illegal acts ordinarily. Does that apply here?

ICE cannot legally enter your home without valid legal authorization. One such authorization is a valid search warrant.
Now what happens IF they do enter illegally depends on the facts of each situation. Cops have been prosecuted and convicted for killings after illegal entry, and homeowners have been prosecuted and convicted for killings after illegal entry.

I’m not an illegal and I’m not housing any illegals so I don’t have to worry about this scenario.

No. And they admit they have no reason to think I am.
Can I stop them?
By the way, a memo doesn’t make it legal.

Verbally note you are objecting but cooperating. Let them in and contact lawyer for subsequent lawsuit.

Yes

The memo simply states they are using administrative warrants.

In my hypo, they don’t even have that. And they admit it.
Can I pull out the shotgun?

No. You handle it in court. There is no point that they are going to stop, admit that they are in the wrong, and leave. Comply with them and handle it in court.
Obviously, you have free will, so you can fight back, but you will likely be shot.

Why would they tip you off with a premature visit without a warrant? You already ruled out the emergency scenario.
Are you here illegally?

I get that. But let’s say I put the shotgun leaning against the wall in the foyer.
Can they shoot me?
I’ve got no agenda here. I’m trying to figure out where the legal line is.

Why would you escalate it to that point vs letting them enter illegally then suing for rights violations?
It's crazy how some of you get so emotional that you lose all logical train of thought. That's why Pretti and Good are no longer alive. Don't be Pretti Good

If you pull the shotgun on them and escalate it then yes they will shoot you. Whether they were justified or not will be for your family to sue and find out because you will be 6' under.

This is how the British Redcoats did it.

If you have nothing to hide why does it matter?
