"SILVER SPRING, MD – The American Nurses Association (ANA) is deeply disturbed and saddened to learn of the death of Alex Pretti, a registered nurse, in Minneapolis earlier today. We extend our condolences to Alex’s loved ones, colleagues, and the community at large.

ANA condemns violence in our communities. The seriousness of this incident and others demand transparency and accountability. ANA calls for a full, unencumbered investigation, and urges that findings be shared promptly and clearly so Alex’s loved ones and the public have answers.

One in four nurses already experience workplace violence. As incidents with federal law enforcement continue to rise across the country, we are deeply concerned for the safety of nurses, both on the job and in the communities they serve.

Nurses are advocates for the safety and well-being of their communities. They enter this profession to heal, to protect human life, and to show up for people in their most vulnerable moments. ANA remains committed to preventing violence in the workplace and in our communities, and to advancing meaningful protections that safeguard healthcare workers and the public." - ANA

I find it ironic that this message states that "one in four nurse's face workplace violence" when their member, Mr. Pretti, was committing workplace violence against Federal Agents when he met his demise.

I don't know what the percentage of workplace violence is for The Boarder Patrol but I would guess it's greater than 25%. Mr. Pretti should have stayed home.

Also odd for the organization to make it about themselves.

Your chances of experiencing violence go way higher if you are struggling with local, state or federal officers while visibly armed with a gun.

LOL, this dude woke up this morning intending to obstruct federal law enforcement operations. And to make it worse he decided to bring a gun to the party along with multiple magazines. It’s a shame he got killed but my supply of fricks to give is about exhausted.

I have found a large number of nurses to have mental issues. Ironic.

I’m sure he looked in the mirror and thought “I’ll show those ICE agents who the real American is.”

And now he’s dead.

Do they condemn the violence of Jose Huerta-Chuma? His name wasn't mentioned in their statement. What about the violence of the one who bit the finger tip off of the ICE agent?

if so, then why did the Nurse's Assoc choose to highlight this idiot who thought he was so smart as to tangle with ICE?

Where was the Nurse's Assoc when Laken Riley was killed? Wasn't Laken Riley a nursing student?

quote:

The American Nurses Association (ANA) did not publicly release a specific statement regarding the murder of Laken Riley. However, the incident has drawn significant media and political attention, especially relating to discussions on immigration and safety.

Workplace violence…so was he working? I know they had “medics” etc back in 2020. Check his bank account and see if he was on the antifa payroll

Sounds to me like Alex was Pretti stupid to confront armed ICE agents with a weapon.

Well, technically they do provide board, but noted, please take off 5 points for using "boarder" instead of "border".

Then I would like to ask the American nurses association. If he's a registered nurse in Maryland, then what the hell is he doing over in Minnesota? Engaging in protest I mean get to work why travel across the United States to take part of a protest? That makes no sense if you want to stay alive
