Greenland needs infrastructure. Seems Denmark has done nothing to develop Greenland. Greenland has less than 100 miles of paved roads…

Those Europeans got all fired up over nothing…..

Send illegals up there to develop the uninhabited side.

It's true, eventually Greenland is going to wake up and realize they could be wealthy if they shake off those green warrior Danes.

Denmark should be ashamed of themselves. Danish boats landed there 500 years ago, they planted a flag and laid claim…and all they’ve got to show for it is less than 100 miles of paved roads?

You do understand that Army Engineers and Navy Seabees could do this under training appropriations, right?

Do they need paved roads? The place is frozen 80% of the time.

I would think paved roads would be a maintenance nightmare with those freeze thaw cycles.

80% of Greenland is an ice sheet, so you're building roads on the rocky coastline. Not a great investment when you're talking about a population of 60k.

A few hundred miles of paved asphalt versus access to rich natural resources and rare earth minerals?

I’d call that a win.

Military operations on Greenland are going to be about operating off road and on ice. There is no point in over-building road infrastructure there because the environment will destroy it as quickly as you can build it.

we should just send all the refugees and illegals there and if the left is correct, it should be a utopia in no time

Greenland needs infrastructure.

For its current needs? Not really. Basically everyone who lives there either lives in Nuuk, one of the other two “major” villages, or is native and rural.

Now, for real development to extract resources or host large military bases? Absolutely.

But it’s not like the current population there needs highways they all live around the same fjord in a town smaller than Pineville.
