I know that many posters here already know this, but the general election for President was almost always arranged by the corrupt system to ensure that BOTH CANDIDATES were Political Establishment hacks. In the past 75 years, I would say only 3 candidates in the general election broke the mold (JFK, Reagan, and Trump). Of course, JFK was assassinated. Reagan was shot but he survived, and Trump survived an assassination attempt while running for his 2nd term.

2016 was set up by the corrupt system to be an election between yet two more Establishment crooks. Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. No matter which one won, the evil Political Establishment was going to keep on flowing like the Mississippi River.

But then, a brash billionaire businessman from NYC named Donald Trump entered the political arena and turned the political landscape upside down. How do we know that the crooked Establishment hated Trump from the beginning? Easy:

The false narrative of Trump/Russia collusion

2-3 years of the Weissmann/Mueller witch-hunt (They couldn't even find anything with which to frame Trump.

2 impeachment trials

A stolen election

An FBI raid on Mar-A-Lago

Multiple bogus indictments

The bullet in Butler

My point? This country would've been lost forever if (probably) Hillary Clinton had succeeded the America-hating race-baiting community AGITATOR known as Barack Hussein Obama.

Thank you, President Trump, for all the sacrifices you have made in an attempt to save America!

Too long for the soundbyte types, but some people here really need to read and UNDERSTAND what I've posted.

Not as divided, but still as crazy.

The left wing would still be flippin nuts, but they would not have a man-child as their poster child.

He's divisive, which is probably his worst flaw

But we'd still be very divided. I blame it on "the algorithm" and think it was going to be inevitable. He may have accelerated things a bit.

whats even more amazing to me is the number of people (including this board) who were FINE with lockdowns, getting fired over not taking dangerous experimental drugs, arrests for free speech (well its ok because it wasnt the 'correct' speech being hunted down)

seriously, wtf people. you dont think that same totalitarian shite you loved because it was going your way isn't going to bite you in the butt eventually?

I would really be interested in hearing your explanation as to how these 3 were able to "break the mold."

He definitely has bought us some time. I think the US will eventually Balkanize, but thanks to Trump maybe that’s further away.

We'd be in similar shape as Europe. The populations are not as left wing as their leaders. And their leaders are importing vast numbers of voters who will keep them in power.
Another important thing about Trump's win is that it will probably encourage future candidates who are not career politicians. Spending decades in govt rots your brain.

Obama drove a wedge between blacks and whites, and the Left and their "media" drove a wedge between the parties. All you have to do is look back at how the Left and the "media" reported Bush/Dick Chaney, Romney, and McCain as evil with regularity - Iraq was only due to Bush greed, Romney going to "put yall back in chains," etc.

Then, when Trump had the gall to push back, the Left and their "media" imploaded. It only feels to many that it was Trump...it was not. He just made sure the crap was thrown from both sides when he did not act above the fray like most Republicans have done in my lifetime.

What are politicians in this context but carpetbagging, narcissistic snake oil salesmen.

That describes Trump to perfection.

Much closer to where Canada, England and Australia are. Trump simply delayed the inevitable though.

Look to Europe, that's where we'd be. That's what they want.
