I think blowing up the drug boats was cover for the military to gather intelligence & get personnel into position to capture Maduro. Blowing up drug boats was a bonus.

Righteous Indignation is exhausting I must say.

And little brown Venezuelan fishermen are lower on the Victim Scale than a flanneled lesbian from Nebraska just dropping her children off at school in Minneapolis with bald tires and a bald girlfriend

It makes sense that taking out the leader who protected cartels would reduce cartel activity.

Or you're just not hearing about it because there is no longer a need to inform the citizenry of why we are taking action in Venezuela.

The silence isn't proof that we just wanted oil like some say. There are much simpler, obvious possibilities like the ones I listed.

It's also pretty silly to think Venezuela was about one thing. It was about oil, drugs, and foreign influence all at once. Narrowing it down to a single cause is just people trying for any way to twist the successful outcome into a negative.
