7 picks in the top 5 rounds is huge at this time in the saints rebuild. Really need to improve the depth everywhere.

Hope to see a RB, 2 OL, 2 DL and a TE/WR from those picks.

Wouldn't that be for losing Adeno in free agency and then Yaidom did not play enough snaps on defense during the season. I think is how we ended up with that.

Quincy Riley ended up playing a whole bunch kind of like I hope that he would.

Sucks we got one of the last 4th round picks for Shaheed who is a huge reason Seattle might be playing in the superbowl now. But gave up a high 4th for Vele.

Yes, with the state of the roster we needed to pay a WR3

Kind of, but you also have to consider the $$$ involved. Vele will be a valuable piece for a 6'5 QB who likes to throw over the middle.

They also got a 5th rounder for Shaheed.

If Seattle goes to the superbowl, it’ll be the last or 2nd to last picks in the 4th and 5th.

Vele is cost controlled for 2 more years. Shaheed is going to get paid this offseason.

Vele has shown is is very capable. Over the final 4 games he put up 19 catches for 239 yards and a td. Shaheed in 9 games in Seattle had 15 catches for 188 yards.

We basically traded a guy that's cheap for 2 more years and showed he can produced for a guy that's going to cost quite a good bit, if he resigned here at all.

Also once you start hitting the 4th round and later it's much more a dart throw or hoping your scouts did extremely well, so the picks being later in the round doesn't matter as much like it would if they were first or second rounders.

He’s been an absolute beast on special teams, but as a WR, he really hasn’t done anything for Seattle. He has 2 total catches over his last 4 games.

People still harping on 4th rounders like every one hits and is a starter...

Vele looks like an actual starter (at the very least a 3rd big body receiver to play half the snaps and goal line once we get another receiver). That's already better than 95% of 4th rounders. Would you risk a sure thing for a 5% chance of something better?

And for a UDFA, who they obviously weren’t going to offer WR2 money to keep around, it was a hell of a ROI.

He doesn't get that many snaps on offense, under 50%. I would love to know Seattle's reasoning because he's obviously capable.

2 catches in four games is super amazing. And we only got two draft pics for renting him out to the seahags for a year lol

Some fans just like their misery!
