Winning a national championship with Indiana would be something you’d choose to try to do in NCAA dynasty mode.

Behind Leicester and North Carolina State
Ahead of damn near everybody else

And then quit a season or two in because “it’s impossible”

If they hadn’t have just went 11-2 and made the CFP in 2024 it would have been more of a complete shock.
Wasn’t there an English soccer (I know) that won after being a doormat every year in their history?

Leicester takes the top spot in my opinion. Indiana has got to be top 5.

Not only that, but as opposed to in years past, you now have to win a 12 team tournament to win a championship as opposed to just making a high level bowl with a great record.

Agreed.
That's why I think Leicester City takes this crown. They were the betting favorite to get relegated, but instead won the whole damn thing over 38 games.

In the last 75 years before cignetti Indiana had 14 wining seasons
It’s the most unlikely I can think of

They have 800,000 living alumni that’s serious about other sports. Kind of amazing that they were so bad for so long.

In the European soccer leagues, the giants of the sport win almost every year. A team that was just recently promoted winning the league is virtually unheard of.

If relegation existed Indiana would have been done decades ago
This is the first time in college football history since integration a team like this has won. It’s not close either for this sport

I don’t think some of these guys understand just how unlikely this was.
We’re not talking one season, we’re talking about a perennial doormat to the extreme, who just went 16-0 with wins over Ohio State, Alabama and Miami.
IU winning is more like if Butler had won against Duke.

Right
Indiana (even a year removed from making the playoffs) was 100 to 1
Leicester was 5,000 to 1

This doesn’t feel real. It’s feels like I just finished a season of dynasty on NCAA26.
