I just dont see how you can watch this team make the moves they've made and NOT think that they are, at the very least, doing the barest of minimums to keep the league from stripping the team from them

I just don't care...
while Queen has looked good, we won't have any assets to build around him. Zion has no value and can't work on the floor with Queen. Herb wants out and probably has less value than we'd like. We are paying Poole tons of money to be our tank commander when we have no reason to tank.

Who are they trying to convince? This franchise is a joke and has been since it moved from Charlotte in 2002. I'm certain no one would really care if/when they move. They're not serious about winning basketball games. ( the owners and management), not the players I do not blame them, well, most of them. I do believe they try but they are put in a situation to fail every year.

There is just nothing to be excited about right now. They seem content with the status quo and are just going to ride it out to the end of the year. Nobody is standing out or doing anything special. The rookies need time and are being put in a horrible situation.
I have said for years that the team needs to be sold. That doesn't mean it has to be moved. There are many owners that live in different states than their teams. We need a change in top leadership. That will filter down. Until that happens, there just isn't much to talk about..

I’m coming around to this idea as well. Destroy and semblance of hope left in the fanbase so there’s no uproar when the team eventually moves.

If you kill the fanbase it gives them a reason to move/sell the team . Possibly earlier than the lease expires. New city owner would agree to buy it out remaining contract. League can also seize it. Just ask George Shinn.
