How do you deal with rando's that don't track their score accurately?

I played at Webb this weekend, and got paired up with two younger guys - in their 20s. One guy was semi decent, and the other was terrible. The terrible guy constantly flew the green on chips or putted the ball 6 feet past almost every time. He even picked his ball up and said he got a bogey a couple times. Semi decent guy claims he shot an 88 and his buddy shot 100. I am a high handicapper, shot a 96, so it kinda frustrated me when he gave his friend 100.
I might give myself a stroke here or there, but I'm never as egregious as these guys were.

I cannot imagine caring about that.

I didn't really care a ton, and I never said anything about it to them. I just don't see how you get any better playing like that I guess.

Dude if you are shooting 100 it does not matter if you shoot 110. You suck. I shot 105 at 16 in my first tournament ever. If I was shooting those numbers today I would not play.

All depends on your goal for your golf game. If you just want to get out and knock it around, who cares about a score?
I have a friend that is pretty good, probably 8-12 hdcp, and he NEVER keeps score. Just has a carry bag with 5-7 clubs and he usually walks. He just enjoys the game. He’s never competitive, never too serious. To him, it’s just a number. I’m kind of jealous of that.
I’m VERY competitive, probably to a fault. I need to just enjoy the moment … GOLF. Have played some great courses. Wish I would have just stopped more often and soaked it in.

I'd be happy with this instead of watching him duff a chip 2 times, then skull it across the green then 4 putt. Let him take his bogey and move on. If you aren't playing for money, who cares.

By not playing with rando's mainly.

If I am playing a round where there is no game being played, I am so wrapped up in my own game that I usually have no idea how the other people in my group are doing. I remember feeling terrible one time when a good friend of mine shot the round of his life and I was oblivious to it because we had no skin on it. I usually assume every one is like that, and it reminds me that nobody gives a shite how I play; good or bad.

Agree my give a shite meter for somebody else’s score doesn’t really register unless we are playing for money or they go deep into the woods and somehow recover with something like par where there is no way they could have pulled that off and literally that situation only gets triggered for me if it is a pattern so wouldn’t really apply to a rando.
Pretty sure this was a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode when Larry confronts the chick for saying she got a bogey on a hole where he thought she was OB.

I occasionally play with a guy who will pick up on multiple holes, take mulligans, and in general follow 0 traditional penalty stroke rules.
I genuinely don’t care as it keeps him happy and keeps the round moving. I just don’t gamble or play him for money.

I’d rather play golf with a guy that has a bogus handicap over a guy that uses “rando’s” as part of his vocabulary.

Leslie Nielson said, "I don't play golf bad. I play bad golf, but I feel good."
lesson: chill.

Since I don't play professionally or for money, then I don't give two flying fricks what a random person scores themselves.

I would never know if they aren't tracking their score accurately, because I am not tracking their score either.

I play with a co worker a lot. We never play a match so it doesn’t bother me, but I always laugh inside. He’ll take 2-3 mulligans a round but never count the extra strokes. He’ll also miss a putt here and there, but give me the score if he would’ve made it.
Occasionally he’ll have a good round and be shocked his score isn’t any better.
I count everything because I keep a GHIN. I laugh at his scoring, but it doesn’t bother me and I don’t call him out on it because there is never skin in the game.

I might be in the minority here, but I play golf to compete against myself. It lets me play with whoever I get paired up with and not give a shite what they do because I'm battling against me and my game.
I only have one buddy I play with whose game is just like mine and we'll get competitive when we get the chance to play.

Same same Tader. I could care less what they do or write on the scorecard. Now if we're having a cold beer at the 19th hole after and he starts bragging to his buddies how he just beat me, then I'm gonna tell him about himself.
