Is there anything more important than having the day off after traveling home?

Had a nice 5+ hour drive with the kids. Could not imagine having to go into work tomorrow morning. Always plan for a day off after getting home from a trip to get back in routine

Staying hydrated.

I cannot stress how much I value planning a day between a trip and real life.
It also makes the travel day so much less stressful because you have room for error.

Absolutely. My gf use to ask me “why did we only stay 4 days when you took Monday off?” “Because I’d then have to take Tuesday off “

I always like having a day before work to get my head right

If I’m home after a trip I will only think about what to expect at work the next day but if I am away an extra day then I take it as an extra day to relax and decompress
I disagree with your philosophy

I just drink a white monster in the morning and I’m fine. Maybe a Zyn too

Also gives you a chance to have some time with the wife.

I wish we had one planned right now.
In the smokies since Thursday, leaving tomorrow morning. Whole family minus wife is sick. Whatever respiratory shite going around has kicked all of our arse, not flu, no fever or anything.

Regular colon screenings.

What kind of colossal pussy are you? It was standard practice, back in the day, to drive 9 hours on both a Friday and a Sunday to get to/from an LSU game and go to work the next day.
Leave earlier, stop less, do your job.

How can it be an extra day to relax if you need to use much of it to travel back home?

The very worst, in my experience, is getting home from a week of “vacation” at Disneyworld and having to work the next day.
A vacation following a Disney trip is mandatory!
