I rest my case, Buffalo got screwed

Agreed on that play. Even the booth ref guy made it worse in all of his analysis by kept saying Cooks didn’t have “firm control” or “complete control” on the way down whenever every replay showed two hands on the ball and the ball pinned against his body. He even had two hands on it before the defender even touched it. How do you define “firm control” or “clear control”?

He hits the ground, then defender rips it away as they roll over. It was never bobbling or loose until after the ground and the defender rips it away

The ref repeatedly saying Cooks didn’t have firm control was just a real time lie.

A tv ref could watch a guy walk around the mall with a football for 20 minutes and still contend they can’t see “firm control.” Mfers will be holding the football on a play and fall to the ground with it and a tv will use words like firm control. What the shite he’s got the ball what do you mean firm control?

It’s all to distort the rules on purpose to give the NFL more ability to control outcomes. There’s no other explanation. They’d fix the rules if not. In that sense, the NFL is absolutely rigged. They rid the rules to better allow them to control games.

It was egregious referee frickery. Right up there with the Tuck Rule and the Saints pass interference no call.

So why was it reviewed, sent to NFL HQ and overturned?

It’s one thing to call it an int when the play happened. It’s another thing to look at it on replay and say it’s an int. If you show this replay to the football community and put a poll on it, does more than 50% think it’s an int? I think not.

It’s obvious the league doesn’t know what the catch is because there’s like 10 different requirements and definitions that’s open to interpretation. I remember a few years back in a playoff game between the bengals and titans where the defender made a questionable int. While the ref was watching the replay, the special guest ref in the booth saying that it wasn’t an int and stated his reasons only to have the ref on the field make the opposite ruling.


I always tell people that if you show a questionable catch replay to 10 refs, half would say no catch and half would say catch. How can these guys enforce the rules if they have different interpretation of the rules.
