A good breakdown on why we need a game changer at DE..

I thought Hunt did a good job discussing the current roster with the new portal haul.. And that Prince U coming to LSU changes the dynamic.. we need that game changer.. This would be big for LSU.. obviously.. excited about the former 5* from Tennessee as well

Umanmielen had 1.5 sacks through two seasons at Nebraska before last year.
This could be Jordyn Ross, Jaylen Brown, or Reliford. Or even Shanklin next year

I think the speed of the game has changed too much to keep TH out on the edge like that. He’d need to slide inside.

This is what I’ve been saying.
If it came down to letting Umanmielen walk to secure Seaton (money wise), easy decision.

100%. With Reliford and Ross, we can manage at DE without Princewell if necessary. Without Seaton, we could be in for a mess on the OL.

Just up voted you in 2 threads. Agree with you and Lester. We could use another pass rusher, but have some guys that can fill the role if we miss on Prince. We have speed everywhere on D and Baker will attack from multiple spots.

I don’t think Princewell is a must have, but he does have a skill we were lacking this year. If you watched Ole Miss this season, they rarely blitzed. Golding played a ton of drop 7 and 8 coverage and would keep 2 high Safeties if they weren’t struggling with the run.
Princewell showed a knack for getting pressure and sacks without the aid of extra rushers. This is something we struggled with this season. None of the DEs were able to get home consistently rushing 4 after Reliford went down. His 9 sacks this year support him being a valuable add here.

I have yet to see Damon Wilson II from Missouri mentioned who is an EDGE guy and on 247Sports rated the #6 best player in the portal. And he basically has the same high rating as a transfer as he was rated out of HS. Does anyone know who he is considering?

OK, so obviously there is a difference between Umanmielen $1.3 million (including buyout) and $3 million. They are rated about the same but I guess these days Umanmielen is the "Blue Light Special" huh? (apologies to defunct K-Mart)

No, they wouldn't move him to DE because they thought his feet were too slow. That's why he was stuck inside playing 1-tech. The fans thought different and wanted to see what he could do at DE.

It’s childish but I want him to hurt & piss off Ole Miss more than I want him because I think we really need him. I’m just at that point with them in general.
