Hard to get excited about any player coming when they're only there for the money, not LSU

Call me old fashion, but I would rather sign a 2/3 star player that loves LSU, understands the history of LSU/Tiger Stadium, the passion of the fans, the amazing tailgating and considers it an honor to wear that jersey every Saturday and are not there just for paycheck.

As a young child growing up in south Louisiana, LSU was embedded into me at a young age and those three letters meant something. I can still recall going to games in Tiger Stadium and being a part of the most passionate fanbase in CFB or having family get togethers to fellowship and watch the LSU game.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm just having a hard time cheering for LSU when you know a majority of the players couldn't care less about LSU and are just using LSU for a paycheck.

Why is it one and not the other too? Why not both? Some of these guys like Green seem to be happy to play for LSU and get paid.

Once you pay them it's the NFL not college anymore.

Eh. Miami’s in the championship and most of their players are multi million dollar transfers

I’m pretty much there. This model in college football is horrendous, completely unsustainable and will eventually only retain fans that are drama queens. The rest of us will be relaxing by fishing, hunting and spending QT time with family and friends. It’s very close for me personally.

Yeah, I mean I get what you’re saying. But this is the game now. There will still be a lot of of those old-fashioned type of players as well. And I know it’s hard to believe, but there were a lot of players where it was just about the money the entire time.

Yea we are a far cry away from
The old Bayou Bash and players who chose LSU for the passion and experience of playing in Death Valley etc.

Now that passion and experience is just for that fans as we now have to buy the experience of winning etc as the players are just here for a payday and a way to the NFL.

If we win Championship or get to semifinals idc - it is what it is now. How do you move to the top - that’s all that matters.

Agree with your take, but time moves on. This is the current state of college football. Good news is we have the coach and GM in place to navigate this new setting.

Yes, let’s go 7-5 but love our good old hometown 2-stars…

We’ve always gone out and locked down the state then grabbed the best we could from the rest of the country.

Last year something like 60% of our team was from Louisiana, you just didn’t realize it because those high priced transfers were playing…because they were better.

You must not want to win championships

Better yet, it’s time for you to become a fan of a D2 school where players play for all that bullshite you were talking about.

Nope.

If a stud wants to come here and only cares about the check and we win, then that’s all that matters.

My guess is there will be some sort of connection, but these guys aren’t signing lifetime pledges, nor should any fans think they should.
