The Trump administration has enough trouble as it is. It doesn’t need a new state the size of Alberta…

You’ve never been correct on anything here. Administration is doing great! Tough time for people like you but a great time for the rest of America

Trade them the left coast and Minnesota

They could keep the maple leaf as their State flag if they do become the 51st state.

United we stand, divided we fall.

I'm assuming the 178,000 signatures have to come from residents of Alberta. Total population of Alberta is ~5 million.

They’d just be protectorates like Guam most likely.

No conservative should want them as a state.

Albertan's have their own version of Scott Pressler but are their elections rigged?

For those of us who haven't paid much attention to those weirdos up north, why do you say this in general?

Give me Alberta, Saskatchewan, NT and Yukon. I'll cede Minnesota and Washington.
Life would be better.

If Alberta were to secede, it would create a massive domino effect.
Alberta produces ~80% of Canada's oil, which makes up anywhere from 3%-10% of Canada's GDP or 2% of the Canadian government's 2024 budget.
But there's more to it than that:
Unless Canada wants to reroute pipelines, highways and powerlines (edited to put those in order of the jpegs) up through the Northwest Territories, British Columbia would become highly isolated from the rest of the country. As that goes, so too would access to the Yukon territory. This would likely increase prices for pretty much everything in those areas, thus increasing the possibility they too secede.
I'm not an expert on Canadian economics, but I have to think that being essentially land-locked on their western end wouldn't be good for them.

Canada has been importing Somalians into Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Hat like crazy the last four years so expect massive fraud to take place with the voting process.

It they're oil rich, they should become an independent country. Wouldn't you like to be independent from the whims of DC?

First we have to teach the folks from Yukon that Tang is not Florida fresh squeezed orange juice.
Selling Generation Protection Relays to the Electric Utilities. Hotel Restaurant advertises “Florida fresh squeezed orange juice” to a gang of Tampa based engineers. Waitress walks around the corner with tray. See the color first…….”You are going to get a kick out of this.”
“Slow boat from Florida?”
Even NASA dumped this long ago. Explained to the manager.”Quite simple, squeeze a real orange.”
Rodeo in Calgary is great. Skiing And Dinosaur digs north of Calgary are worth the trip. Lot of American oil people up there working already.
