We finally don’t need an QB, and can wait for an OL. Question is even with our needs at DB and DL, if Tate is on the board at 8, do you go get him?

I really do not think the staff feels like DB is as big a need as some fans seem to think. I don't think it is either.

It's more like a depth concern.

Riley - Sanker - Reid - McKinstry - Taylor are solid starters.

Taylor is going to test the FA market and some team just may over pay for him thinking he can be a lock down outside corner. If that's the case there are a few rookies in this draft that IMO would plug in seamlessly at nickel.

Would not be mad with Tate at #8, Love, or one of the Ends/Edge Rushers. Need a big DLman but that can be had later. I'm confident that will fix the IOL in free agency but may draft a development guy later in the draft.

Downs might be a caliber player you just don't pass on.

Well, we have Reid and Sanker at safety and then Taylor and McKinstry at corner. I think Keionte Scott and Mansoor Delane fit Staleys defense to a t. Big body press corner would be great for us. I also don’t think you can pass on Downs either, but I think we need corner more than a safety. Tate also falls in that category of you don’t pass on it. There are a lot of options at 8 this year

I wouldn’t be upset if we took Downs, Delane or Mauigoa. I feel like those guys are almost can’t miss top of their position, solid for years to come types of prospects.

I’m concerned about Tate’s top speed and Tyson’s health and athleticism.

I think Resee will be good, but it depends on if a coach can use him properly. I have concerns about Bain and Faulk and lack of production throughout the year.

In all honestly, we have so many needs that I’ll just trust CKM knows what we need and will get the best at those positions.

Taylor is a free agent and is going to command a lot of money. I think he's vital to this defense but I don't know if we can afford to pay him.

Will be interesting to see if Loomis does his usual game plan - Fill out the roster with free agent acquisitions so that you can draft BPA. He already got a WR from Canada....so maybe WR is off of the table with the Number 8 pick.

I wouldn't be too upset with Loomis filling a few holes with smart FA contracts and then be prepared to fill out the remaining areas of need.

I’d be completely thrilled if we drafted Tate. I think he ends up being a great receiver in the league.

We are in a spot at 8 where anyone you pick is gonna help immensely. I hate the thought of another OT, but wouldn't argue against it if they did. I would be happy with any of the top DEs. Would love either of the WRs. Love would fit this offense great.

He would have to be for 7 other teams.

We need a #1 CB. Alontae and Kool-aid aint it. Saints really need to upgrade the skill positions on both sides of the ball. Also, we do not have a #1 or #2 guard.

This took Tate off my board. And he’s not really a YAC guy like we desperately need. At 8? No. Probably goes in the 20s or 2nd rd in a good WR draft

Taylor most likely will be in a different uni next season. Someone will overpay for him

I’ve read a bunch of comments in here about people thinking our offensive weapons are good enough and that blows my mind. This team needs offensive weapons beyond imagination. I’m not the biggest fan of Tate as i believe guys like Boston, Bell, and Tyson are all better than he is. With that being said weapons for Shough and protection has to be at the top. The only player or players I’d take at 8 on defense would be Bain or Faulk. Downs is a luxery pick and although he may be the best prospect here there isn’t a safety in the nfl that is a game changer anymore. It’s not a premium position at all.

I saw one Ohio state game this year and was impressed by Downs.

But is no one concerned by his lack of real impact plays? In his entire college career he had 1.5 sacks, 6 ints, and 18 total int return yardage.

Eric Berry had 3 sacks, 7 int and 2 pick 6s in one season. Likewise minkah fitzpatrick, tyrann mathieu, earl Thomas all had massive big play numbers in college. Even guys like Vonn Bell, Brian Branch and Marcus Williams put up better impact play numbers in college.

I do worry a guy touted as a can’t miss prospect at a non premium position didn’t regularly make the kind of plays you would expect that guy to produce in college.

Bain or Reese.

Whoever is there, that is your pick
