Alberta will be voting on Independence within the year. Canada will become a part of the United States eventually. My guess is that Canada will enter as 3 or 4 states plus a series of territories (Northwest, Yukon, and Nunavut).
Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, and Manitoba will form the state of Western Canada. Eastern Canada will either enter as one state or be split into as many as 3 so that Quebec can sorta do its own thing a la Louisiana.
You'd end up with The Maritimes having a population of around 2.5 million, Quebec with 9 million, Ontario with 16 million, and Western Canada with around 12 million.
