And we need to do it by eliminating any and all minimum incomes to pay income taxes. I’ll accept a progressive scale, but everybody should pay enough that they feel it.

Implement the FairTax.

Everyone pays something.

Flat tax would lower taxes on the top 10 percent and raise taxes of 90 percent of Americans. No politician in his or her right mind would vote for that.

I’m not for raising any taxes while they just print whatever money they want anyway.

As an aside, what if income taxes were eliminated altogether and a national sales tax was implemented?

Then everyone would pay some taxes regardless of where the money came from.

Maybe you tax luxury items like yachts at a higher rate.

Mike Tyson burned through 300 million of his earnings by spending it on all kinds of stupid shite. It doesn’t matter how much you make if you’re spending your money like a coked out Mike Tyson. Which is basically what the US government is currently doing.
We need to cut spending, dramatically

Let's eliminate all Medicare, daycare, welfare, SNAP, and other fraud, get back to a positive budget position, and then figure out how much we can reduce taxes.

I looked at the financial statements for the US government a few months ago. I can assure you the government has a spending problem and not a revenue problem. But they don’t want you to know that. We could cut taxes significantly in this country if there was actual oversight and no waste.

That is exagerrated..But 90 percent of the people would get a tax hike. Political suicide.

What we need to do is someone who before entering politics was a well known businessman who can run things. Then he can hire a wiz-kid younger guy but someone who also knows all the new things going on in technology, I dunno, someone like Elon Musk, and tell him to root out fraud and corrpution in the government. That should solve everything!

That's because the bottom half effectively pays none to little taxes according to your chart.

Eliminate income tax abnd estate tax.

Fund govt through low corporate taxes (15%) low capital gains tax (15-20%) tariffs and national sales tax. No sales tax on basic necessities and food staples and meats/vegetables but do have tax on processed foods and junk foods.

You may be ok with your kids being born into servitude… but I’m not.

I didn’t bring my kids into this world to serve a government who hates them.

Letting them and their cronies become rich by cheating the system. What in the absolute hell is wrong with you???

So, I am supposed to pay MORE in taxes to a government that willfully wastes it and gives it to illegals to squander it and use it for only God knows what nefarious purposes? Yeah, I'm a hard no.

Yes and they would make up half the voters and toss whomever votes for a flat tax out of office.

Consumption tax would be the way to go. You could still vary the tax based on the products and services.
