I don’t care what the outcome of this game is. It is and always will be harder to play in the SEC.

It’s also a lot easier to play SEC schools when you have multiple weeks to prepare and are playing at a neutral site.

Try doing it in the regular season. You beat Alabama? Good. Now go on the road to Kyle Field. Then play Georgia at home. Then go to the Swamp the week after that, etc.

These B10 schools get to go on the road and play Rutgers, Maryland and Northwestern and then act like they play a tough schedule. GTFO.

People on this board don’t want to hear it but the SEC is way down from where it was at its peak.

Teams and fans outside of the SEC will never understand this concept. Texas and OU are learning quick. A perfect example is that this years OU team and last years Texas team easily goes undefeated in the Big 12 conference. But being in the SEC there are always teams just as good as you are and they both got punched in the mouth. UGA punched Texas in the mouth twice the previous year.

CFB is more about coaching than any other sport I can think of, and Indiana has the best right now. Playing a softer schedule is helpful because they can focus on improving themselves rather being over preoccupied with their opponents, allowing IU in this case to establish a strong identity.

Meh...Penn State, OSU and Michigan all seat 100k plus, Nebraska 90k and Wisconsin and Sparty 80k. Also Oregon, Iowa and Washington are notoriously difficult road venues.

Big 10 has alot of cannon fodder but the SEC has plenty as well. Kentucky, Arkansas, MSU and SC are all horrible.

I don't know if I would say way down but they are down a notch and there are no dominate teams. At the same time the big ten programs have step up their game, so things are more even.

Outside of maybe Penn State, the schools you see that are consistently ranked in the top 10 in hardest to play are in the SEC.

I’m not going to tell you that the B10 doesn’t have good teams, but I think we can all agree that it’s harder to play at Jordan Hare or even at SC than going on the road to Nebraska or Michigan State regardless of record.

SEC is still the deepest conference, but the Big 10 has been stronger at the top for a few years. They have huge endowments and wealthier donors than the SEC outside of Texas and A&M.

Money talks and BS walks and the Big Ten has more money and boosters with deeper pockets. The SEC screwed up in expansion with Texas and Oklahoma because it didn’t increase revenue. You already had the Texas market with A&M and Oklahoma is a small state with no major tv markets. Meanwhile the big ten went and got usc and ucla Oregon and Washington so they added all of California Oregon and Washington tv markets

Having no dominant teams means it is in fact way down. Alabama is only playing today because they got in on their name (again) and then were lucky enough to be matched up with another terribly overrated SEC team in the first round.

The only reason the SEC will get a team to the semifinals is because that section of the bracket contained two SEC teams and Tulane.

This is an excellent point. I’d argue they have the entire season to prepare for likely matchups because the majority of their season is a cake walk.

Let’s just face the facts and the truth for once the SEC was overrated. Every time they lose a ball game is because they didn’t care. What the hell does the schedule have anything to do with the SEC getting beat up by other teams specially in the playoffs love them or hate them, Vegas had Notre Dame favored over every team in the playoffs on a neutral field except for Ohio State. The hell with the conference championship byes the hell with the power five teams get a bid just put the best 12 teams in the playoffs, regardless of conference. Get into a conference championship can only help you in this instance not hurt you. That’s unfair. Nobody is forcing any conference to play a championship conference game. They do it for the money so do away with all the other excuses. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of negative replies but regardless it’s the truth just face it.

The SEC added an Oklahoma and Texas so they could be the dominant conference mission accomplished. But you can’t have it and bitch about it at the same time not to mention the money they were able to get out of TV networks because of it.

“ People on this board don’t want to hear it but the SEC is way down from where it was at its peak.”

NIL and the portal contribute greatly to this. Lots of schools outside of the SEC have rich crazy boosters. That’s all it takes now.

All of cfb is. None of these teams could compete with the SEC teams 10 years ago that had 4 and 5 stars 2-3 deep at each position. That's just a product of the transfer portal. The best teams nowadays are equivalent to what ND and Ohio State were when they'd get dominated in January 10-20 years ago
