Academy sports and outdoors credit card pitch

I’ve noticed this has gotten increasingly aggressive over the past year. To the point of now being asked 3 separate times when I checkout to apply for their credit card.
Are you interested in our card…you’ll get $30 back instead of $15 today…well we wish you would sign up for our card..
Similar at your store? Almost to the point I will stop shopping there.

I hate talking to people as much as anyone else.
Just say Nah and move on with your day.
Or just tell them your legal action against Academy prevents you from applying.

Just apply for the card, get your discount, pay the balance, put card in a drawer, move on with your life.

I tell them there are two types of poor. The first is people who have a bunch of credit cards and the second is people who have to ask people to get a credit card from their employer

“Already have one.”
Shuts them up every time.

Im sure a lot people put Jaxon's travel ball expenses on this thing and pay on it until they're 60.

I go in to an Academy expecting a poor experience. If it’s not, then I’m plus for the day.

How does that bother you? Grow up.
And, with the cost of things now, saving 10 or 20% at checkout is a home run for many shoppers. Could make or break their ability to afford.
And youre lying, they dont ask 3 times
What a complete vagina...lol
How do you weaklings walk upright

They have to try to make money off of credit cards to fill in losses because people like Baby Tac commit return fraud and rob them

LOL. You are like an elephant with this.

I remember when Academy was a pleasant well run store that catered to the baws. It still caters to the baws but is not pleasant or well run.

Is it that hard to say no a couple times. Its their job to follow a script

I have one. 5% discount and free shipping. They run special discounts all the time. If you shop there a lot it kind of makes sense.

I was actually asked by a clerk while a grab and dasher was rolling out with a shopping cart full of gear. I simply said "maybe ya'll should be giving him a credit card, so we don't have to pay for your theft losses" the girl laughed and said "that happens several times a day"

They don’t even mention the card at first. It’s just “do you want to save 20% today?”

Nope. I go to the one closest to the ghetto here (mainly because it always has what I need and they also have a cop sitting at the front door almost every day. The cashiers always say press no if you don’t want the credit card.

Tell them you already have a card that has great perks.

A lot of retailers do this. I feel bad for the cashiers, who are pressured to do this.

I expect nothing less from this clown.
