When I was in high school I worked at Target. Willingly gave up being a cashier to go push buggies because I was tired of pitching their Red card. Nobody wanted that shite, stop making me your sales guy. I just scan shite.

I tell the cashiers that money is the root of all evil so saving money would only make me more evil.

And, with the cost of things now, saving 10 or 20% at checkout is a home run for many shoppers. Could make or break their ability to afford.

Or just don’t go to Academy and walk up to the checkout with things you can’t afford, like a responsible adult

Or, just dont be a little school girl bitch, and say No Thank you, when offered.

How dare a private enterprise try and push in store products, and market to customers! That's un-American!!!!

How dare chevron, or she'll, offer discounts at the pump for card members!! Arrest them

How dare airlines offer free fares and perks to card holders!!! How dare they.

Lots of stores this now.

I know some places give the cashier a bonus for every app they take.

I worked at Academy and might again since I got laid off from my corporate job. The cashiers don’t like pitching the credit card anymore than you like hearing it, some cashiers quit because of it. It’s some ridiculous bullshite coming from corporate and they really need to see how unpleasant it makes the experience for everyone.

They don’t even mention the card at first. It’s just “do you want to save 20% today?”

“Not if it means I have to pay 20% the rest of the year.“

I have one. 5% discount and free shipping. They run special discounts all the time. If you shop there a lot it kind of makes sense.

Is it a Visa or Master Card?
It's just part of their business plan to make another 4 or 5% on customer purchases. That way they can make money when a guy uses it at Bass Pro.

Does Bass Pro Shops still have those folks who try to sign you up for their vacation program? Those people were the worst.

I remember when Academy was a pleasant well run store that catered to the baws

Then it got bought out by PE, and, well, we know how that goes.

We have one of those BPS outpost stores close to where I live. And yes, they try to sign you up for vacations and their own version of a credit card. I enter the store and turn hard right or left to avoid them.

Says the bitch that will boycott cause his hurt feelings over a card offer.
Notice how youre not defending your topic anymore? Merely popping off like a child.
