The problem is the ranking. OSU was a terrible team. Stats padded by playing in the Big 10. beaten my Miami, #3 ACC. You will believe after an undeserving Bama skull fricks indiana tomorrow. It;s not the bye, it's the idiots that "rank" the teams and the sheep that believe the rankings.

Why do yall not want more meaningful football games. I’d rather more playoffs games with quality teams than watch meaningless bowls where players don’t even play.

OSU beat nobody. I knew they were a fraud. Indiana is a fraud and both will loose to bad teams.

It’s not a bye week but 3 1/2 bye weeks. Bama “skull fricking” Indiana would go towards proving the issue especially if Indiana starts off slow, falls behind, and has to play catch up the entire 2nd half.

Last year the teams that had a game 10 days before jumped out to early leads against the teams in the quarterfinals that hadn’t played in 3 1/2 weeks just like Miami did tonight (it took ND a quarter to start doing this, but game was also delayed a day due to a terrorist attack which caused both teams to have reset their game day process).

Playing the extra game may hurt in the semis or championship game if a team that played in first round plays a top 4 seeded team that gets past the quarterfinals, but in the quarterfinals playing a game 10 days before against a team that hasn’t played a real game in 25 or 26 days is an advantage.

The problem is there are some average coaches coaching elite talent at some of these schools. Ryan day is not a great coach just cause chip kelly won him the title last year.

your forced to rank them up there but you really don’t know if they are good enough until they have either lost in the playoff or won the thing cause they aren’t playing a competitive season. It would be like the eagles playing easy wins every week but maybe 1 in the nfl and having a bye then losing to the rams

Indiana didn't start out with a gifted ranking.

Bama would have to play their best game of the year to win tomorrow.

Ohio State on the other hand...they started out overrated, beat a Texas team that was overrated, and played a weaker schedule than Aggy, which resulted in the same result: losing the last two games to the only good teams they faced all year.

This board loves to Monday morning QB. When Arch started the year shitty, every LA football expert was on here claiming they knew all along. Now we are gonna pretend that we knew OSU was a fraud all along. Expect more of this tomorrow.

No.

But if you watched the Big 10 championship and still expected Ohio State to win it all, then you don't pay attention.

The same thing happened tonight that happened in that game: their lines got pushed around.

Aggy would have done the same thing if they were playing tonight.

Sayin is good if he's given 4 seconds to pass. But if his line can't stop the rush because they aren't bigger or faster than their opponent, and he is rushed, he's on par with Nussmeier.

Miami allowed this game to be closer than it should have been because, just like every offense these days, they focused on trying to use the pass game instead of just pounding the rock and wearing down Ohio State's defensive line.

I swear, Les Miles would dominate in today's game with his offense. There isn't a defense out there built to stop it.

Yet every OC insists on using little misdirections and screens and letting everything go through the quarterback instead of just giving the ball to the running back and telling him to slam into the middle of the line.

I think that is 100% true for last year as you had the stupid seeding rules. OSU was overrated in hindsight, but Miami played their A game. I think the bye likely contributed to the Buckeyes being caught flat footed when they got punched in the mouth.

That’s not what I’m saying. OP said “OSU was a terrible team.”

This is going to keep happening with win B1G teams getting exposed in the playoffs because the conference schedule is too diluted with the B1G having 18 teams and only maybe 4 that are any good from year to year. You’ll keep seeing B1G teams that end up overrated because the schedule worked out to give them a very favorable draw.

Has a team with a bye week won a game since it went to 12 teams?

They got fricked by the bye. Kudos to Miami for taking advantage of it.

That’s my take but it’s just my opinion

They struggled to beat Texas. All you need to know right there. OSU beats up on lesser competition but struggles when they play someone with similar talent. A story as old as time.
