There are some bad places out there.

Yeah, it's called dropping your kids off with family. One thing has become obvious in the past 2 weeks. The American people have been getting F'd with by fraud. I am not suprised that Law abiding hard working Americans start refusing to pay taxes. It also explain why Democrats freaked out about Elon Musk and DOGE. It's insane the amout of fraud that has been taken place off of the generosity of the American people.

Not me—- I happily pay for my kid.
What I wish is that the modern American economy was not so inflated and filled with disposable consumer goods, that it was economical for a parent to stay home with a child during their early childhood.

It’d probably be comparable to public schools. Some areas have great public schools, some not so much.
If you live in a nice neighborhood/county w well supported public schools, they’re great. Why would a daycare situation be different from that?
Inner city schools, I get it, that’s tough.

See this is the problem with you democrats
You want everything for free. Imagine how horrible government run childcare (even if miraculously not full of grift and fraud) would be.
I'd rather pay for good service (I did for a time) or have the wife stay home with the kids (we also did this for a time). I would never trust the government with my children at their most innocent and helpless stage.

What he should do is outlaw private childcare and mandate all children must be in city run childcare centers. That way he can ensure that everyone is treated equally. The city can be prepared to act quickly if a child comes to the centers and repeats statements that the parents have made that are not inclusive. What could go wrong, if the city has 100% control of the family?
