BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a deadly crash involving an electric scooter on Friday night, Dec. 26.
The crash reportedly happened around 9:40 p.m. at the RaceTrac on Perkins Road. According to BRPD, a 2020 Nissan Kicks was traveling north on Staring Lane when it turned right into the gas station’s parking lot, hitting an electric scooter.

Did the victim have alcohol in his system?

What a horrible accident that ruined multiple lives

I would say that new laws to deal with all of these electric scooters will need to be enforced but existing laws are no longer enforced so what's the point?

Surprised this doesn't happen more often

Honestly, you can pretty much run whatever red lights you want to nowadays. Sometimes even in FRONT of cops. You also don't really need an inspection sticker or license plate either.

Seems that we've lost the plot. Spent a couple hundred years bringing order to chaos. Taming the wild-west only to get to 2025 and see unlicensed cabs (uber), unlicensed vehicles on the roads (lime scooters), unlicensed hotels (airbnb), unlicensed electricians and plumbers (Angie's list) and cap it off with unlicensed whores (onlyfans).

It’s amazing this doesn’t happen more often. These folks on these scooters think they own the road and will dart in front of you with the quickness.

Were whores ever licensed? I’m sorry you don’t like freedom

That’s because more and more people have allowed the media, politicians and religious and social “leaders” to sell them a lie that seeks to separate them from their spiritual foundations. The external chaos in the world then starts to mirror the internal chaos and confusion of the collective of humanity. I do everything in my power to tune out the static from the bullshite artists in society these days. And that includes almost everyone.

They're a nuisance in my area since the kids will zoom out at a crosswalk without checking. I keep a careful eye for them but not everyone does the same.

Don't bring a scooter to a Race Trac.

There were so many accidents with these things in the UK, leading to these types of accidents, they banned them from the roads/public transportation routes back around 2019. They will eventually be banned in the same way in the US IMO.

Hard to see people at night.

You are exactly right. We need to start licensing whores right away.
Whores should have to pass an annual Whore test each year to maintain their Whore license. This test should, of course, be an oral test.
Whores should also have to maintain annual continuing education credits be properly licensed. On top of that, there should be a gradation of Whore levels to attain. You know, like Helper Whore, Journeyman Whore and Master Whore, etc.

Good they oughtta be. People riding these things and electric bikes rarely ever follow the rules of the road. Ive also seen em run people off sidewalks. It’s gotten out of hand.
