Brooks County Texas Box blind
.308
20-30 MPH winds gusts up to 40.
57 degrees
Chance of rain 70 percent

I’ve only seen 3 decent bucks this trip and their noses where still to the ground chasing in and out the brush. All the big boys seem to be with the ladies.

47° and falling. 14mph N wind
28 nosler

About 100 yards south of some private. Hoping a big one will come out of there onto the public. There’s scrapes and rubs everywhere in here, so confidence is pretty high. Packed for an all day sit. Good luck! These temps should have them on their feet.

It is about damn time we had a temp drop. I was sweating bullets and even sat shirtless in my saddle for about 30 minutes yesterday it was so hot.

Hoping they are moving for yall today. Really hoping someone gets one

Best of luck gentlemen

Did it help attract the deer better?

My son saw 8 this morning behind the house. 4 small bucks and does. The bucks were chasing does out of the woods into the field. My wife and I had some errands this morning but I’ll be in the woods the rest of the week starting this afternoon.

I know most of you are in the rut, but in your experience - post rut, is there any point to an all day sit on a sunny, very cold day? I'm going for the afternoon later, but I can get out early to wind chills in the low teens the next 2 days. I'll do it, have before, but I'm not sure there's a point. Or, when it's freezing at night are they more likely to move and eat during the day? I have thought in circles, no camera data or enough consecutive days in my hunting habits to really know.

The more you’re among the deer, the better your chances of getting a shot on the one you’re after. On the other hand…I’m a believer in “when it’s your time, it’s your time.” Fellow hunter that I was in a lease with years ago, hunted 4 days straight new years week then decided to fry fish on the camp porch one afternoon instead going to stand. Shoots the big 10 point everyone was chasing from the porch. Go figure.

Hat… it’s not common to find another hunter in Kemper county. How long have you been hunting there? I have some land off panky rd that’s been in the family for 100 years.
