9 years later, this is actually impressive that the 6th round journeyman could potentially be the last one standing.

1st round (11th overall): Marshon Lattimore CB
ROTY
4x Pro Bowl
Few years stretch, considered a top 5 CB

1st round (32nd overall): Ryan Ramczyk T
1st team all-pro
2x 2nd team all-pro
Considered a top 3 RT for a few year stretch until injury derailed his career

2nd round (42nd overall): Marcus Williams FS
Starter until his injury, known for a whiff but considered a top 10 safety in the league for much of his career

3rd round (67th overall): Alvin Kamara RB
ROTY
2x 2nd-team all pro
5x pro bowl
Considered a top 5 RB for majority of his career, he & CMC paved the way for the current generation of RBs coming out

3rd round (76th overall): Alex Anzalone LB
multi year starter, still strong career. no accolades, but PFF graded him top 10 a few years

3rd round (103rd overall): Trey Hendrickson DE
1st team all pro
4x pro bowl
for a 5 year stretch considered a top 10 DE and for a couple years, arguably a top 3 (35 sacks in 2 years)

6th round (196th overall): Al-Quadin Muhammad DE
Journey man who has continued to somehow blossom as he's aged. 26 total sacks in 9 years, 11 sacks this year T-9th most in the NFL

Honestly, let's hope that when we look back the 2025 draft matches some caliber close to this. We're off to a good start

Now imagine if we would’ve gotten Mahomes instead of Lat?

2025 class might be 2nd best class in Saints history. I don't think any class will out perform 2017 class.

25 should outclass 17 eventually because QB and LT are more important positions

I would take this exact draft this year.

Fill CB, RT - slide Fuaga to Guard, DE, LB, and RB.

Would be set outside of one more elite wr.

I can still never forgive Marcus Williams. It’s hard to define a player’s entire career by 1 play but with the stakes and just how damn bad that play was. Media talking about the “Minneapolis Miracle” and Diggs talking his shite in the end zone but it’s all a result of our safety trying to make a tackle while looking straight at the ground.

Williams was a bust

Never made big time plays in big time games.
He always disppeared.

When we lost to the vikings:
Case Keenum to Stefon Diggs Tackled his own dude. Lost the game.
Cousins to Adam Thielen no where to be found. Lost the Game.
Cousins to Kyle Rudolph no where to be found. Lost the Game.

Williams was a bust for the Saints. Then got benched by the Ravens.

Flame Away.

2017
Lattimore
Ram
Williams
Kamara
Hendrickson
Anzalone
Muhammed

2006
Bush
Harper
Jahri Evans
Ninkovich
Mike Hass
Josh Lay
Zack Strief
Colston

2017 draft doesn’t have a single miss, but overall I think 2006 was a better draft. Very close call.

The knock on Lattimore was a history of injuries... and he fulfilled those expectations.

Doubtful. But Loomis appears to have one great draft every decade, surrounded by total shite, so I’m guessing this is it. Just enough to save his job….

Of course everyone would have loved to have Mahomes, but Lattimore was vital to rebuilding our secondary coming off those terrible seasons prior

Conceivably you could have two rings (Minny miracle and Rams no call) with him as your best player on defense. He fit our window and was a great pick

Highly unlikely.

2017 is possibly the GOAT draft in NFL history.

We drafted an OT in 2017. The R/L distinction in OT value is basically nothing today, and Ram was incredible. Better as a rookie than Banks was this year.

And while QB is important, 2017 had elite CB/Edge, which are 2 of the next 3. And it's WAY too early to guess if Sough is all pro level good yet.
