Clearly I don’t go very often

Went today to see Marty Supreme…Small popcorns aren’t even available, the smallest size is a medium, which is the same portion as an extra large a couple of years ago

Same thing with a medium drink, it’s the smallest size they sell, and it is the same size as an XL soda from just a couple of years ago

The price for their two smallest drinks and their two smallest popcorns: $38

Christmas scrooge rant over

In Shreveport, the Tinseltown, the Goodwill, and Walmart are all in the same parking lot. Hard fricking pass on those concession prices when you can get a 3 dollar purse at Goodwill and fill it up with dollar boxes of Whoppers and Buncha Crunch from Wally World.

Theaters don't make money off of the box office. They only get 10% of the cut the opening weekend which goes up by 10% each subsequent week

They have to keep the lights on somehow

Yeah, and Big Movie brainwashes the children. It took the better part of a year before my son wasn’t terrified that Jack Warner would rendition him to Abu Graib for sneaking in a bag of Starburst.

How may typical OT responses in this it a thread?

“They charge a lot if people are willing to pay for it”

“The market price is what a person is willing to pay”

“If you don’t like it, don’t buy it”

“I don’t eat theatre snack, my 4% body fat won’t tolerate it”
