I take my grandson to the movies about twice a year. Other than that I never go. Always get drinks, popcorn or nachos, whichever one he wants. Yes it’s ridiculously expensive but so what. Not like I can take it with me and we both enjoy going and it’s just one more fun thing he will have great memories of doing with his PawPaw after I’m gone.

When I was growing up it seems like we went and saw everything that came out, especially in the summertime. They have clearly priced the average person out of being able to do that now.

You are a colossal pussy. You went to see a 3 hour long movie about table tennis.

Used to go to the local movies every Sunday after church. Mom would give us 5.00. .50 cents to get in. 10 cents for a coke and the same for popcorn unless you added butter, in which I always did. 10 cents for a candy bar and I put the rest in my piggy bank, unless I splurge and buy a little cutie, I'd been chasing a coke or something. This was mid 60's to 70's. And you could sit there all day and watch the same movie over and over and over. Talk about a cheap babysitter. Good times.

We dont go often, but can you imagine being a teen boy and taking your girl on a date nowadays. You gotta fork out 100 bucks for a Chipotle stop and a movie.

You spent $38 for all smalls.

For an extra $1.75 probably you could've went large on everything and got refills to take home.

Wear them cargos and stuff your pockets with your own snacks, bro. This is the way.

I guess I’ll be the only guy here that loves the movie theater experience. We have the rewards program at our local theater that gets us occasional free tickets and Tuesdays are discounted, but I will still shell out $60 for Friday night tickets and a drink and popcorn. We love it and go at least once a month, anytime there is a movie we think we at least might enjoy.
