How many different Christmas gatherings will you attend this year?

Not counting work. Just family and friends.
Somehow I have found myself in the midst of a 7 gatherings in 1 week situation. Usually 3, maybe 4 is the max. This week has been fun but exhausting, and event #3 hasn't begun.....
How about you, baws and bawettes?

It's gotten pretty ridiculous this year but my brother lives out of state so it throws everyone else's schedule around. But it's shaking out to be:
Last Saturday - wife's extended family gathering
Friday - my immediate family
Saturday - my extended family
Sunday - wife's immediate family
Christmas Eve - wife's parents
Christmas Day - wife's immediate family for breakfast, wife's extended family for lunch, probably my parents again for dinner
There was another one on the 6th that we skipped
I'm already exhausted

3.5.
I love the overall sentiment of the holidays, and when I'm physically seated in a location stuffing my face with unlimited food I love that too, and of course being off of work. But the older I get the more I get so tired of the constant hassle and non-stop on the go nature of it. When I'm not at work I want to relax and chill and not do shite. Running around from place to place and forcing small talk with people I see twice a year just isn't any fun to me, but there's no way around it unfortunately.

quote:I'd enjoy it a ton more if there wasn't any gift-giving premise, or rather if any and all gift-giving was kept to kids and the white elephant stuff. It's the running around town fighting traffic to buy gifts that really drains me, or even just coming up with gifts to get people.

Aside from that it's kinda torture trying to watch college football with people who never watch football
