Why do people claim a sport is "rigged" but then still follow the sport?

Why would you knowingly watch and care about a sporting event that has a pre-determined outcome?
Either say its rigged and then cut all ties to it or accept your team sucks.

Wrestling was super popular when people suspended disbelieve. It didn’t become a TOTAL clown show until they bragged about it being fake. Even if you knew it was fake. So the conspiracy fan will still watch cause they don’t really know. Football is hard to rig being physical except by the referees

Honestly it's just something they say without thinking. Also it's used mostly by younger people who bet on games and get screwed by a fumble or int etc.
The two most over used words by fans in sports is "Let's gooooo!!!" and "it's rigged". I just roll my eyes everytime I hear those sayings.

1. Many things in life are rigged to one degree or another.
2. Sports are my preferred entertainment product. I can accept that sports are "rigged" and still enjoy the product.

I watched a Packers game for the first time in 5 years this weekend, that shite looked rigged to me.

Stopped caring about NFL about 6 years ago. Tried to watch a game a few years ago and it was that one where the game was canceled because they thought a player might've died. Took that as a sign.
But I stopped because I was tired of holding calls/non calls. Just seemed like the refs could control a game based on making random holding calls.
That and the commercials. equal amount of game time as commercials.
