The world's largest producer of mozzarella is closing one of its dairy plants in California due to the state's sky high operating costs.

Leprino Foods, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, supplies cheese for fast-food pizza restaurants, including Domino's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's.

For the last 115 years, the plant has operated in Lemoore, a small town deep within California's rural Central Valley.

But now more than a century of history is coming to a close, with an estimated 300 people set to lose their jobs when the plan shutters early next year.

One major factor likely driving the move is that California has a high corporate tax rate, while Texas's equivalent franchise tax is much less burdensome.

Additionally, California imposes higher payroll tax obligations on companies for things like unemployment insurance and disability insurance.

That's the way to keep surviving businesses from moving from the Cali shithole.

I support companies moving from one governmental unit to another for cheaper labor and less environmental crap.

well duh, and it will continue to get even more expensive as the cost of energy goes up with all the refinery closures.

I’m sure some will make the move to Texas. I just they don’t bring any Cali liberal ideas with them.

Adam Corolla has a funny take, he said Cali is the super hot chick who didn’t have to be kind, funny or smart and everyone still wanted to bang. Now the super hot chick is getting into their 60s and they aren’t that hot anymore, nor are they kind, funny or smart.

He did it better but you get the point.

This is one of the great joys I get daily....hearing about the absolute implosion of CA.
Beautiful place, some wonderful people that will slowly suffer...because of the memory of what it once was. They'll hang on and ride it down.

Hey world, conservatives can EASILY live without liberals. The same is not true for you idiots.

Conservative government works better without liberals. Liberal government doesnt work at all without conservatives.
Well, that is before you go full socialist and steal from us.

I have a bunch moving in to my area. It's pretty easy to sniff out their tendencies when alcohol is involved at parties. Most of the dudes are fine...50% of their ladies are a lost cause.

I bet they all get their pepperoni from the same producer too.

Texas is better for country wide distribution anyway.

They're giving up like so many have and will do. Giving up on the land and their past. It's sad. Where's the fight? It's just easier to leave, and I do get it. Life is short, but that west coast land is rich. There's something sinister afoot if all the good people are being forced to decide to leave or stay.

Ehhhh, California still is like the 5th largest economy in the World and 15% of the US economy overall.

They could recover fairly easily one day if they ever decided to get their heads out of their asses. It’s fuking crazy how bad it’s been there with recent Leadership.

California is so buried in libtarded fantasy, that reality forces the realist to vote with their feet.

Unfortunately, some libtards can see the reality of failure, but think socialism will work next time. They move to functioning states and corrupt them with their BS ideology.

It is how they proliferate the madness by seeking higher office to enable funding of their horrible behavior. Instead of responsible decisions, let's just kick the can down the road.

Well, they have run out of road.

Well...California is turning into a 1919-1930s Soviet-style state. Who can blame them?

The elites and puppets have obviously declared war upon it.

I think that is a red area, but they suffer from Cali state burdens. If any move they are likely red voters.

Since Cali is a lost cause politically due to cheating - they also have the biggest population of Pubs in the country. If we could export those voters to toss up states we could at least keep all 3 branches.

People just can’t wrap their heads around the fact that 60%+ of California is left/far left, that. Leaves a solid 30% that are not!
Reminder that Romney got more total votes in absolute numbers than he did in Texas and Louisiana combined.
It’s an incredibly unique geography and great pay so people hold out as long as possible but job moving to Texas is probably a good time to sell your house, get the equity and say good bye
