I would like to see Lane make an offer to Kyle. I think he did a great job last year. I think he is a big reason for the defensive linemen we got.

It sounded like Kyle Williams didn’t want to coach in college from what I’ve read online.

Everyone on the planet wants Kyle to stay. He wants a break. He is rich already. It's not about the money. He has plenty already.

I think if Kyle wanted to stay, we would not be looking for a DL coach.

Kyle is choosing to leave and enjoy retirement. Lane isn't forcing him out.

This is about KW not wanting to coach rather than Lane not offering. My guess is that the demands on a college assistant are more than he wants to give at this stage in his life.

Sure, but this is a fan board, so we are just having a conversation.

Nah Kyle doesn’t have what it takes to hang in today’s college football. You gotta grind 24/7
He’s got family and enjoys golfing too much to make that commitment

I have yet to see a direct quote from Kyle Williams discussing his future.

Nah he just doesn’t want to deal with it. To say “he doesn’t have what it takes” is pretty wild thing to say about a guy like Kyle Williams.

Kyle wants to play golf and go hunting. He was a good stop gap, but he doesn’t want to do this anymore

Kyle stated that he wants to be home with his kids and may look into coaching again when they’re grown.

How are you going to keep someone who doesn't want to coach anymore?

KW main passion is development. I think he is phenomenal at this aspect of coaching, and at the HS level you can spend all your time just focusing on that. At the collegiate level you have to spend all kinds of additional time recruiting, pushing boosters for NIL money, and, at the end of every season, you have to rerecruit your roster. He’s not interested in all the extras.
