Due to a medical condition, i’m not supposed to have dairy. However, i lift (age 59) and try to get 200 grams of protein per day. What protein powder/drink is better, egg or plant based (I realize whey is the best)? I’d appreciate any recommendations and advice.

At True Nutrition, you can completely customize your protein.

I’ve used pea protein at various times. It’s like drinking chalk, but you get used to it. Obviously not as good as whey, but it works well enough.

Plant based proteins may have concerning levels of lead. There have been a number of studies released this year on it. Of course, spices and other foods we eat every day do too.

I prefer to try and limit possible bad stuff if I can. I would Go with eggs and meat.

Looks like it's eggs and fish for you, buddy. Maybe get some non-dairy yogurt and chia seeds.

Just on a quick Google search, it doesn't look like this is a permanent condition...?

I don't think the research on that is settled. Fortunately, I'm not as effected as most people who have it.

If I had alpha gal, I’d eat a shite ton of shrimp.

I’ve been on Noble protein here lately. Beef isolate, colostrum, beef organs. It’s clean, simple and mixes well

It wasn't for me, less than 6 months total of red meat in general giving me issues. And not all red meat did it, it was weird.
