Why expect anyone other than Trinidad Chambliss to be LSU QB next year?

Some of ya'll are overthinking this. All the threads on Lagway, Underwood, Mestemaker, or whoever are a waste of time. I know he's waiting on a waiver for another year of eligibility, but the NCAA always grants these nowadays and he has a good argument. Chambliss has had plenty of opportunities to reaffirm a commitment to Ole Miss and hasn't. I wouldn't expect any of those names bandied around here to transfer in to be his backup.

It’s Chambliss

Lane is confident for a reason

Because he has no eligibility left and does not play for the Tigers? I see those as a couple of good reasons…..

Because he is no longer eligible, his argument is more similar to those the NCCA has denied than to any of those that have been granted.

Because he’s not that great and he would have to get awarded an additional year of eligibility which is unlikely considering his situation.

My question is if he is given another year, WHEN will the NCAA grant that year. Timing is pretty important in this case obviously

You and some others in this thread better look up some recipes for crow. I have zero concerns about him getting an extra year of eligibility. He played in 2 games as a freshman, by FBS criteria that should be a redshirt year. The NCAA has nothing to gain from not granting him another season in the FBS. It's clear some of ya'll just don't want him and are wish-casting. You better start coming around.

Chambliss will be on a NFL roster somewhere next season

The appeal to the NCAA is a weak one and a Hail Mary according to Ole Miss reporters

He was brought in to be the backup at OM. Now, he performed better and ultimately became the starter. But that doesn't mean the staff shouldn't consider other potential options who might be better than Chambliss, but weren't available last season. Particularly when it is uncertain he will even be eligible next year (contrary to your statement, the NCAA has denied such request recently)

This would be somewhat akin to arguing BK should have just tried to bring Jack Coan (ND's 2021 starter) to LSU to be the starter...and not considered other options, such as Jayden Daniels. Coan had a solid year for an 11-1 ND team. But there were other potential guys who were better.

Well, he did a good job for Lane this year but he actually was the backup, so, he wasn’t his first choice. I think Lane will get the best qb he feels helps him win a championship, if that ends up being chambliss then so be it but I look for him to target someone else possibly.

It’s pretty obvious that Chambliss is coming if he gets another year.

You may not want him, but if you don’t understand why people expect him, I don’t know what to tell you.

He may not get a waiver for another year of eligibility. If he does, i expect him to go with the man that gave him a chance.
