This may be my most ridiculous trip ever.

Before everyone calls me crazy, this trip is purely about flying, not seeing the cities.
My college buddy has a few expiring systemwide upgrades on American that expire at the end of February. With an 18 month old at home and a full time job, I need to minimize my time away from home.
Currently we have JFK-MXP and ARN-HEL-DFW-AUS booked. I'll be booking a cheap positioning flight AUS-JFK on the outbound which should give me plenty of time to make the connection.
What we have up in the air right now is determining how wild we want to get with our MXP-ARN routing. My personal favorite involves an 8 hour overnight in Serbia for $91 but that is still subject to change.
This trip should give me plenty of review content while minimizing my time away from home.
If you have some more ridiculous routings we should try, let me know. Land in Milan on Friday morning and leave Stockholm Sunday early-AM.

Are you in international sales? Damn son you are flying all over a lot.
FWIW I have no clue what those abbreviations are

I've done tons of that before... Aside from the general flying public and their stupidity (mainly covid and post), being up at 35k feet and cruising is my happy place.
I should have followed through with flight school when my grandfather tried to put me in it back in the day.

FIFY.
Are you on SAS?

The only thing I don’t like about international travel is the flying.

No SAS, Will be American and Finnair for the long haul segments. Flying with an OWE so we will have access to the First Class lounges at JFK and HEL. SWUs already cleared as well.

Airport codes. New York City to Milan. Stockholm-Helsinki-Dallas Fort Worth-Austin. I had trouble typing out Dallas Fort Worth because I haven't called it anything but DFW for 20 years.

That's what makes you crazy.
You're basically flying a weird leg hopping route all of the way to Helsinki (in the dead of winter no less) and you have to buy tickets for two of those legs, all just to turn straight around and come home? And while you have a new kid at home? Just seems really pointless and directly in the bucket of whatever fallacy applies to people who waste time and money trying to chase bargains or free stuff that aren't worth the effort and resources expended in the process.

EXP with AA here. I am really confused what you are asking. Are you looking for global or intra-Europe one world flight choices?

I'm gonna guess nobody was confused about that one, of course.

Just any funky intra-Europe routings you may know of. Will hopefully give me some good airlines/lounges to review.

Do you make any money off this? I know you have the website, but is flying across the world around the holidays with a baby at home worth it to you financially?
Genuinely asking, if so, good on you.

The website does make a profit, yes. It's also just a fun guys trip.
We're doing the trip at the end of February and I'll be gone three nights, no different than when I travel for work. Both my wife and I think its important to be able to get away and unplug for a bit. She's doing a girls weekend next month.
Also the ticket before taxes and fees was $11.

Because of the thousands you already spent

Not a mileage ticket and not my SWUs, I'm in this thing for less than $400 in Business Class.

Where did you find this, on FlyerTalk? I have been ignoring that forum for too long.

Into Milan and out of Stockholm/Madrid have been a sweet spot. Tickets into Basic Economy but with the systemwide upgrades we were straight into Business at booking. Just play around with Google Flights in January and February.
Cheapest routes are JFK-MXP outbound and MAD-MIA on the return. It wasn't too much more expensive to ticket me all the way back to Austin if leaving from Stockholm so that's what we did.

Why are you doing this? Not trying to be a jerk just don’t understand the purpose.
