For me, a tie between Spinal Tap and the Albert Brooks doc. The brotherly love between Reiner and Brooks was amazing.
Though my wife and I quote The Sure Thing more than any of his other films.

For me it’s Stand by Me. IMO it’s the best coming of age movie ever. Me and my kids have watched it multiple times. Also the last line in the movie hits so hard.

1. Princess Bride. What else to say? Just a perfect film.
2. Stand By Me. "No Ace, just you" might be the most cold-blooded line in any movie I've ever seen.
3. Spinal Tap.
4. A Few Good Men.
5. Albert Brooks doc.
The rest I can largely take or leave but for sure an impressive filmography.

I haven’t seen them all but:
1. The Princess Bride- one of the more flawless movies of all time. Excellence too to bottom
2. When Harry Met Sally- cute clever, one of the first movies I watched with my wife (on dvd not in theaters)
3. This is Spinal Tap

The Sure Thing... such a throwback to the old Tracy-Hepburn rom coms.

1. Spinal Tap- genre defining mockumentary- brilliant.
2. Stand By Me- 2nd best King adaptation (Shawshank) and just a great movie.
3. Princess Bride- Nostalgic, storytelling gold. Beautifully directed.
4. When Harry Met Sally- one of the only rom-coms that I will watch, legendary chemistry between Crystal and Ryan.
5. A Few Good Men- Gripping and intense, pulls you in like a novel you can't put down.
Few directors have delivered such iconic, culturally defining films across such different styles.
R.I.P.

For being a loud-mouthed liberal, Reiner managed to keep politics out of his movies. I appreciate him for that, he just made good movies for entertainment not propaganda films. The one exception is The American President. A movie in 1995 with a crooked, vile, evil Senator from Kansas (played by Richard Dreyfuss) named Bob. Couldn't have been more obvious.

This list is correct.
Not directing but his role in Wolf of Wall Street was great too.

Stand by Me and The Princess Bride are just perfect movies. Two of my favorites of all time. A Few Good Men is great as well. Will always leave it on it if I’m channel surfing and find it on.
