I really enjoy giving gifts to my family, but I don't like informing them on the exact gifts they are supposed to give to me.

Seems silly, but Merry Christmas

I think this is the first year that all extended family members on both sides have finally agreed to the pact that we only buy for the kids, not each other

It's a glorious feeling!

I’m tired of exchanging gift cards with my extended family. Let’s just keep our funds in our own pocket.

I don’t give cash or gift cards - let’s just agree not to exchange gifts instead if that’s where we’re at.

I don’t spend a specific amount or make sure gifts given to everyone are “equal” - that’s not supposed to be the motivation for a gift.

I don’t buy a gift someone puts on a list they give me - again, let’s just agree not to exchange gifts if we’re playing that game. There’s a limited exception here for kids, but I still don’t like it.

Man, we did something like that last year when we went on a trip for Christmas, and I really think that had a positive impact on the start of 2025 for us all.

Birds were singing, and everyone was calm with their one gift, and life went on.

We are going to have to go back to this approach.

I'm well past age of if I want it, I would have bought it already stage.

When I grand pa was still alive, all the men and boys knew what we were getting ever year. Fruit of the loom white tiddies. He was a character. Gave me a sip of moon shine on my sixteen birthday. But that man always had a great garden. When he was alive, never had store bought jelly. And when went to war the first time against Iraq, he would say, sadom was sending them stud missiles. Miss that old man.

Same. If I want something at any point in the year I just buy it. So by the time Christmas is here i have no “list” of things i want.

And honestly i don’t care if i get anything at all for Christmas from any of the family. I’m fine just hanging out and eating and drinking at the house with them.

I am divorced. I have two daughters who I buy for. And I buy one gift for my sister and her husband. And one gift each for their two children.

Both of my parents are deceased. Christmas, for me, has gotten a lot simpler.

We focus on my niece. My sister and I each get the other something we really want. This year I got my sister a blue tooth speaker she wants. All I asked for is noise canceling head phones.

My niece only asked for a tamagotchi. She is getting that and a new tv for her room because she mentioned she’d like to watch movies in her room sometimes.

Our pugs are getting treats and a new doggie bed for the den.

Gifts for the kids and grandkids. Wife and I share gifts, but we don't need for them to get us anything.

My dad wanted a gift card to Dicks sporting goods My sisters said my part was $75. My dad informed me he was spending 200 on me so i told him just to get me a Dicks gift card for $125 saving me the Zelle effort to my sis. He was nice enough to send it a head of time. I went to Dicks sporting goods and bought 5 $25 gift cards for my nieces and nephews. Looks to be another Merry Christmas.

2 of my sons and I just this year decided we’d tell each other what we might like. That went well.

Some people enjoy firing to other people.

I can easily by things I want or need throughout the year.
I’m sure we all can.
However if it’s not something I need immediately I’ll save it to my phone list.
And when my wife ask me what I want for Christmas I’ll give her the list.
It makes her happy and saves her from stressing what to get me.
Less stress more sex.
