It's four school days before school Christmas break. Can they make it without closing?

Those poor children at the bus stops.
Those pesky lawyers and their school bus lawsuits.
Louisiana schools might not have heat.
Think of the children.

I wish I was overreacting, but they have closed for lesser reasons.

Bruh. It's mid-term week for middle and high school. Let them finish.

If anything closes due to lows in the upper 20s then God definitely needs to flood the earth again

Oh, I agree. I just wanted to get ahead of things on a slow Sunday.

I don’t know why this bothers people so much

I guess it’s because their government daycare center closes for the day

It’s not like the kids are learning much in there anyway

Some are learning to keep warm by learning the birds and bees hands on with their teachers with an oral exam.

Nah, just where the lightweights roam - school closure zones, in particular

Great point.

But it’s finals week (actually important) and everyone appears to be looking to coast quietly into a two week/three weekend break until January 5th.

Now will they actually reopen on January 5th remains to be seen. And I really hope it’s not one of these open-on-a-Monday and close back up on a Tuesday.

Schools close down for anything. I understand they don't want something to happen to a kid that is somehow related to the weather and get sued for it, but I remember when I was in high school there was a hurricane that was projected to hit overnight, however it got here middle of the school day. If I recall it was more of a rainmaker than anything. Of course all the students wanted school to close, but we went thought the day like any other day. When school let out everyone got soaked. Bus drivers had to drive a bunch of kids in the weather, but everyone survived.

We got a call stating kids could have free dress but no sweatpants. A fun loving degenerate like me would tell them to wear their warmest pajamas. Make it fun. It is going to be cold for La standards. May as well enjoy yourself. I really don’t understand the issue with sweat pants but thems the rules.

Easy access, kids yanking other kids sweatpants down and of course the BBC swaying loose down the hallways.

I have students who show up wrapped in a blanket because the parent won't buy them jackets. The cold actually sucks for some people. With that said, there is no reason to cancel school because of a small group. Iced roads, power outages, etc. are valid reasons; Just cold is not.
