Until the west acknowledges that Islam is incompatible with the idea of western liberal democracy, and virtually any idea that has moved civilization forward over the last two millennia, the chaos and death will continue.
George W Bush said and did a lot of stupid shite, but setting the post 9-11 narrative with his "Islam is a religion of peace" bullshite is pretty high on the list of frickups.

It also wasn’t compatible with the cultures of places it converted by the sword in the 600s.

It is incompatible with any other culture and openly seeks to be the only culture. This is the part I find baffling. Muslims aren't surreptitious about their ideology and its goals, they are open about it. Any rational person would recognize the threat. The myth that somehow 'openness' is indicative of an enlightened society will be the downfall of the west.

Little doubt the importing millions of third world people into countries was done for many reasons, uptick in strife is the reason and the cure is perceived notion that government crackdowns is the only way to prevent. Democrat playbook on globalists steroids

Our reliance on
1) outdated foundation documents
2) outdated thoughts about how government should run
3) an insistence on equal rights for people and groups who cannot be trusted with rights and freedom

It makes me think of these books I read called We are Legion (We are Bob). Good sci fi books that have been discussed on the book board. Anyways, they come across an alien race that goes to planets, kills the inhabitants, strips the resources, and moves on to the next planet. All to further their ambitions. The answer? Completely destroying their home world. Obviously that isn't an answer for us but we need to stop playing just the tip with them
