Does anyone have experience with owning an All-in-One Washer/Dryer

Our washer is done, the dryer is old but works well. The missus wants a Samsung BeSpoke all in one. I've read on line reviews but wondered if any one here has an all in one - GE, LG, Samsung, whatever.

The wife and I talked about it but ultimately decided to not get one. My thinking was multiple loads would take much longer since you can't have the next load washing while the first one is drying.

We discussed that but it's just the two of us and we both put stuff in the washer or dryer and forget about it for hours anyway so that won't be a concern.

I know a person that had one in a rental he was staying at.. in a big city and was a small one.. his comments were it appeared to take a long time to dry stuff cause there was moisture in the appliance after the wash cycle.. that was a while back… probably better tech now.. and bigger units have less problems.. he felt it left a smell on his clothes also..?????

I had one in a rented apartment. It sucked.
Not only do you have the issue on having to wait, God forbid you forget anything since it has to totally drain before you can load another item in.
Hard pass. They are annoying as hell.

Only worth it if you get the one with the compressor that pulls moisture from clothes. The ones that use a 110v heating element are crap.

I have never heard one good thing about them. I wouldn’t touch that….

Had a little lg in a rental in WA. Sucked. Took all day to get the load dry. Newer tech exists apparently but it sure soured me on the consideration. We have a stacked now and love the space it freed up

I didn't know that was a thing. So the dryer portion just exhausts warm humid air into the home?

Use them in when traveling.
Below average at washing.
Fails at drying. If don't mind hanging cloths to dry its a maybe.

They were created to solve a problems that most people don't have.
Energy efficiency and space saving. If you've got a decent sized space for your washer and dryer, then it doesn't really benefit you. And any time I hear that something is more energy efficient I automatically think that it's not going to work as well.
Just get a traditional washing machine. Try to avoid the "high efficiency" models as all they do is use less water and have overly complicated wash cycles to achieve something as basic as washing clothes.

Used them when living overseas or in a couple of hotels. Drying sucks.
Everyone on this board complains about too many bells and whistles (wifi connectivity, etc), and you're trying to let your wife dictate that one machine becomes 3x more complicated than just having two separate devices.

I would not get a Samsung appliance of any kind.

I've got 20 years of Samsung W/D fridge experience, and other than the icemaker, they've never had a problem. But I've also never purposefully bought an all in one like OP's boss wants.

Had one in our last home, it was a GE iirc.
After it flooded our kitchen and living room for the 3rd time, I hooked a strap to it and drug it out the house to the end of our driveway.
It was basically brand new at that point, since I replaced damn near every part in that pos at least once, most twice, over the 4 years we had it. Plus, clothes never really got dry and the whole unit got hot as hell.
Avoid. Like, at all costs baw.

I would look at the appliances this way:
- washing machine is designed to get clothes wet
- dryer is designed to get clothes, well, dry
Trying to achieve these two completely opposite functions in one machine means it will do both poorly.
If space is an issue, consider a stacked washer/dryer combo.

We ending up getting a traditional washer drier set. The saleslady said in the 18 months they've had them, they have not sold one Samsung Bespoke All-in-one.
