People know about the 1955-57 Chevrolets and they are known as being groundbreaking from a styling perspective. I offer that the Studebaker was then more advanced looking vehicle:

They even look cool today as a restomod / hot rod:

The 1955 Chevy is a good looking car and immensely more popular but looks dated in comparison:

Agreed. Studebaker was too much ahead of its time.

All cars have same boring butt-ugly style now.

Blame the government. Since the government is mandating gas mileage, all cars try to use the most aerodynamic style which makes them all look the same.

We are going thru a bad period with vehicle styling, similar to the bad period in the 80s

I do not like white vehicles but I am also frugal. So I would buy one if the deal was right

So you’re comparing a sporty coupe to a 4 door sedan?

Why not compare it to a 55 or 57 Corvette?

Reminds me when people say Japans trains are more advanced than American trains then compare a Japanese Bullet Train to an American Cargo train…

Almost like prioritizing internal space and external aerodynamics to maximize capacity and efficiency leads to a common, optimal shape/design.

Not that I like it, but it’s not like they gravitated to those commonalities absent pressures from the government to maximize gas mileage and reduce emissions.

In the early 50s, you could get a glimpse of a vehicle two blocks away and tell not only the make but be within 2 years of the model date.

But I only saw a couple of Studebakers my entire teenage years.
