The new buzzword being pushed out by the leftist / never Trump coalition. R’s will hold one or both sides come midterms. I’d lean both with the impending overturn of race based districting by SCOTUS which will net R’s atleast 12 seats. Feel free to bookmark

Good post. I'm hoping that 12 would be enough.

The only way that the MAGA Movement can sustain itself over time is to gain solid political power in the Legislative Branch of FedGov.

IMHO, that will never happen.

Holding the senate is still likely, holding the house looking like a serious long shot.

Betting odds agree w both of those assertions…for now.

The safer bet is that you’ll still be living with mom and working at target

If trends with Independents keep where they’re going, this could backfire tremendously.

If it wasn’t for the desperate need to primary that sleazeball Bill Cassidy, I wouldn’t exactly feel motivated to show up next fall either.

The good for Republicans is that as unpopular as they are right now, the Democrats still have them beat in that department.

The generic congressional ballot numbers do not support the "bloodbath" idea right now. This time in 2018 the numbers were pretty consistently Democrat +7, right now it sits at Democrats +2 or 3 - which is close to even given poll bias.
If I had to bet, I'd say Democrats take the House but only by about 5 seats or so.

Senate favors res to maintain control. House is already extremely close. Midterms favor party not in power but party in power has won seats in The past.

A lot of time in the political world before next November……

And PDJT gave an hour and 44 minutes speech tonight in Pennsylvania to start it off. The R's are having a convention for the mid-terms and our 250th anniversary. Good Times.

Redistricting and the favorable Senate map are the only shot at it not being a bloodbath.

To his credit Trump is doing all he can. It’s the feckless GOP Congress that’s the issue and it’s obvious they won’t lift a finger to help with midterms. They don’t care, some prefer to be the minority party because then they can just whine and fundraise rather than try to govern

The problem is, a simple Senate majority isn't enough, because of Collins and Murkowski

Strong argument that maga gaining solid power in the judicial branch would be more beneficials. But won't happen either.

The Right really needs to find a litmus test for figuring out what runs thru the veins of their candidates.

This is basically saying the only way MAGA can be popular is if it's actually popular.

We are just seeing how small it is nationally. It's failure to make inroads in the House and Senate has always shown it's actual place in the political popularity race.
