Does Tulane hate success?

I’m sure Will Hall is a nice guy and all but what a disappointing lazy hire. There are a ton of available coaches who make way more sense than this guy. Tulane had a chance to build on the success of Willie Fritz and Sumrall but once again won’t spend the money to stay relevant.

Yes
They kept football going for a while. 4 years of winning is a long time for Tulane
They really do hate sports there and nuke every good program when it succeeds.

Basically anybody, this is an LSU moment like when they hired Curley Hallman, but at least he had been successful at USM. This cat won 14 games in four years and set a respectable program back several years.

They offered Blake Baker good money. He decided to stay at LSU.
This coaching search was very odd even for Tulane.
I have no idea why the A.D. would use a search firm just to end up with a guy who was currently on the staff. I also don’t think either of the coordinators interviewed (if they did I didn’t see anything about it).

Yes. The administration has been trying to kill athletics for 70 years.

Tulane has no fan support .Yall were lucky to get Fritz and Sumral. They waste millions of dollars a year on a team that might put 15 000 buts in the on saturdays.Tulane needs to shut down their FB program. The championship game on Fri was a prime example of lack of support ,all the empty seats were embarrassing.

They couldn’t afford Orgeron.

It was also pouring rain in December.

After June/July of 2026, I think Tulane will be one of a couple schools that don't fall under LSU per say.

I'm not gonna defend our fan support. It's pathetic.
Every program that sees moderate success immediately gets kneecapped by the administration.

Many of the professors too. My nephew attended Tulane on a baseball & academic scholarship (4.0 gpa Valedictorian in HS). He was pre-med with future goals of being a doctor. One professor told him if he missed any classes or tests, he would get an F. My nephew advised the professor about being on the BB team and traveling certain days of the week, could he take tests earlier ? Professor said NOPE, there are NO exceptions to his classroom attendance rules. My nephew switched his majors and ended up graduating in 3 years and moved on.

I’m glad for their success and I am rooting for them. But Tulane is in a precarious position. One bad hire could upset the apple cart and it won’t be so easy to return to winning. I’m afraid Hall may be that one bad hire.
Orgeron would have been a bad hire too but he would have brought more good things to the table than Hall. Hall is not “promoting from within.” He is a losing retread HC who does not deserve a second chance with what has become an excellent Tulane program.
This is the same as if LSU had hired Frank Wilson as the permanent head coach.

Shitheads like that shouldn't be teaching anywhere from pre-K through undergrad level. If you want to act like that, be a grad school teacher.

Yeah, with Bret Farve as his QB.

This is a lazy hire, they could have done better than a HC with a losing record at USM, just saying

and you obviously have ZERO clue about the liberal tenured professors at Tulane. Most think they're holier than thou and make no exceptions to help benefit the student athletes. Several of the professors are Dept. heads and know they're untouchable by the University - they are the judge, jury, and executioner.
