SB Mowing on YouTube found trees growing in a pool in the backyard of a house

For anyone that doesn’t know, SB Mowing is a dude that goes around and cleans up neglected yards for free. He has some pretty interesting videos but this one is crazy. The yard has been neglected so long that there are 15 ft+ tall trees growing in the pool.

My wife will watch this guy for hours but as soon as I start doing yard work she disappears.

To clarify, he’s got a lawn service company and mows neglected yards for
free as an act of charity. He doesn’t just ride around mowing yards at no charge.
Fun videos though and it’s made him very popular

And views. His highest viewed video has over 54 million views.

Yeah he's making money off it but I can't hate on it. He's still doing nice things.

Definitely not hating. I could spend the entire day watching his mowing and pressure washing videos. It’s a plus that he seems like a genuinely good person.

Yeah they're oddly satisfying.

He doesn’t mow them for charity, he mows them for social media hits where he makes a good living

Is this the guy who click baits with
“Neighbor called the cops, you’ll never believe what happened next”
And all it is, is the cop comes ask him what he’s doing and then leaves.

Many of those houses are in foreclosure, and he is actually taking eventual work away from crews who get contracts to clean up and maintain those foreclosed properties. My crews have done many jobs in the same or worse condition than the ones on his channel because there can be some legal delays until a lender clears a house to be worked on during pre-foreclosure status. Those jobs are large revenue jobs for people in my industry and he's just taking them for views on YT.

She isn't disappearing, she's inside looking out the window like it's a monitor screen watching you doing yard work live and in person.

You mean saving the tax payers their money? Good. I don’t care if he’s taking it away from a contracted crew that’s taking tax dollars.

It's not taxpayer-funded. Its funded by the billions HUD has from people paying MIP AKA Mortgage Insurance Premiums.
quote:
The MIP payments are funneled into an insurance fund: the so-called Mutual Mortgage Insurance Fund (MMI Fund). That fund is meant to insure mortgages: if a borrower defaults and HUD must pay the lender for the outstanding balance, the MMI Fund provides that guarantee
They have $173 billion in the account as of now.

Is HUD a government agency that's paying those contracts? Then it's taxpayer funded.

I literally posted how it's funded and you just want to look foolish. Good job.

No doubt it has evolved to become very profitable, but it started out innocently enough and with the right intentions. No harm in any of it. Nothing wrong with being rewarded for doing something nice.

You mean business owner
People in my industry have tried to form a union for years. Those are the ones who never last because they can do the work, but don't know how to operate a business and manage the massive amounts of paperwork to bid and bill jobs. They eventually end up working for someone like me who has the infrastructure.
