Just bought a new house and I'm going to need to invest in a washer, dryer and refrigerator. What brands are the most reliable with the least amount of repairs?
I see a lot of people talking about the speed queens for the washer/dryer. Are they worth the money?

I have entry level SQs at two residences since 2017 that work wonderfully and haven’t needed any maintenance or repairs.
Thanks Napoleon for the recommendation!

The simpler the better. Don’t get wifi appliances… they’ll be dead in a year

LG and Samsung both suck. Bought the Samsung W/D set (about $6K for the set). Lasted about 5 years. Replaced with GE set for about $1,500 and been kicking for about 4 years now.

Love my Bosch washer and dryers. If you’re an OT baller get a subzero. Frigidaire and Kitchenaid are good alternatives if you’re looking for something cheaper.

I just bought a French door Frigidaire refrigerator with a drawer above the freezer compartment that can be used to freeze or cool.
Love it. Got at Best Buy for about 1/2 price which was $2K.

Speed Queen, will last longer than most for sure. Worth the money.
If in the BTR area, go to Stanton’s, call first, make an appointment with Kathy, she handles all my accounts. Tell her Dad sent you.
Stanton’s (225) 275-6220

Speedqueen or if you got the cash, Miel. We have the Miel washer and dryer and they are super quiet and extremely heavy and well built!

Frigidaire is where its at.

Here’s the deal with washer and dryers - either spend the money and get Speed Queen, or buy the cheapest thing out there and just expect to replace in a few years. If you talk to people who do repairs for a living, they will tell you other than Speed Queen, they all are made up of the same parts on the inside.
As far as refrigerators, who knows. I’m in my 50’s and my grandma’s refrigerators are probably still around somewhere. What the hell happened to appliance quality?

Stay clear of Samsung appliances.
Speed Queen washer. I’ve been satisfied with G. E. refrigerator.

Love my Bosch dishwasher and my Frigidaire fridge is over 13 years old.

Because of this board, I bought a speed queen washer. Wife thought I was crazy to pay that much for an old school washer. We've had it for a couple years now & she's a speed queen fanatic. She can't wait till our Maytag dryer dies!

I have a GE fridge that I bought in 1997. It has never broken down and is still my household fridge. They still look the same, but rumor has it they are worse now. I did have to replace the fridge side bulb this morning. First time.

YES !!!!
Stay away from Samsung appliances. Dont buy Kenmore washers and dryers either they will 4rk you to death on the repair cost when they are out of warranty.

Which ones do you have?

Years ago when I sold appliances, I would tell customers the same thing for fridges... If you are getting the top mounts with freezer on top, all of them are good and about the same. Find the one with the right measurements and ice maker and go with it. It's not until you get to the French doors and side by sides that brands start getting better or worst.
I personally like GE for my appliances, though my first GE dishwasher sucked and was a lemon.
They got really bad for awhile and listened to their customers and made some changes. My GE fridge I got from the flood has lasted through storms and Ida. It works well.
Washer and dryer I recommend speed queen, but they had a 6 month back order when I tried to get one after the flood so I went with a HE GE that still had an agitator and it's working great. Dryers are all mostly basic if you know how to change a fuse and a belt. Though, I have not had to do either yet with mine.

Washer / Dryer Speed Queen
Refrigerator- IMO they all equally suck now and can go out randomly.
