If Lane wants to bring Smith in at RB coach he should keep Frank as special teams coach. I see no downside in this. Thoughts?

Special teams is a hard position to coach. shite load of personnel to manage and a ton of detail. You can’t just waive a wand and make someone a special teams coach. Usually it’s guys who specialize in that area and come up as ST assistants.

Frank can manage a whole team as HC and can’t manage special teams???? The players love him and he will make sure the teams are prepared and play hard

Yea, let’s make him the QB coach too while we’re at it.

His won/loss record says otherwise.

Ok, I guess you're trolling.

I think it's pretty clear that he won't be here next year. And I thought he was the one truly safe guy on staff given he and Kiffs have a prior history

just make him a recruiting assistant, why do we have to pretend that he has to coach something?

Frank couldn’t handle just the running backs.

Unless the rules have changed, aren’t on field assistants the only coaches that can actually make contact and visits?

Why not just let him be an assistant coach and executive vice president of recruiting or something? The best recruiter in the country so why not

If he's not an on the field coach, he's not really able to recruit. His only value is in recruiting.

From the first Obama administration. Frank hasn’t proven his is still a good rb coach and NIL era recruiting makes it easier to get into New Orleans without the Edna Karr/St Aug mob.

No Bro, we blew off Spurrier back then, (As well as Shanahan and Rutigliano) so fix that mistake and get Spurrier in here to coach ST's. (He's easy to find in Gainesville)

Absolutely fitting for this fascination that we need to keep him.

I don't understand it one bit.

Eh. Maybe in the past. But with the unlimited on field coaches you can have 1 punting coach, 1 kicking coach, 1 long snapper coach, etc. Just none of them would be able to recruit off campus. Of course that only happens if LSU is willing to pay for it (and Lane wants it).

I don’t think Frank would go for it, but you never know. If we’re being honest, it appears that his days at LSU are numbered.

Undervalue special teams to your own detriment.
