On short notice Kiffin comes in and puts in the work to protect our recruiting class, grab a few guys from his ole Miss class, and convince the best DC we’ve had in quite a while to stick around for atleast another year.

Over the next month+ he can continue to build the recruiting class and once the portal opens up grab a QB.

If he works as hard as he has over the last 5 days for the rest of the offseason, I have no doubt that next years team will be significantly improved.

Kelly completely checked out and should be tarred in feathered if he’s seen in public.

I pray CBK’s name never comes up on this board again. Not only was he just a scumbag, but he was lazy and it showed.

Once we get this upcoming season rolling, thankfully we won’t have to talk about his alcoholic a$$ again.

Makes me dislike that little arrogant prick even more. Can you imagine working or playing for him?

If he was still HC we would’ve lost Baker, made a lazy OC and DC hire, and lost several key recruits that ended up signing. Lane was putting in work on a personal level to make that happen and Brian Kelly didn’t believe in that

Brian Kelly would have been curled up by the fire with a good book this week if he was the coach.

After what I've seen in recent years, when Lamar Brown originally committed to LSU, I didn't even have a reaction. I literally did not care, because recruiting news means nothing to me anymore until they sign. And after the way the season went, and Lane coming in last minute before signing day, I was prepared to lose every top commit we had, and was more just looking toward what Lane could do in the coming years with some actual time to build classes.

For him to keep all of our top guys AND to convince Baker to stay is just enormous. And you know he's about to go wild in the portal if the rumored budget is true.

I’ll admit that I gave him the benefit of the doubt up until the point he was fired. I just wanted LsU to win so much I didn’t care who was at the helm, but the truth is, he never belonged here and it’s not because of “he’s not one of us” it’s because he was an entitled prick that build his success on easy schedules up in Indiana.

But seeing Lane hold this class together, get coaches to buy in, and already having a class better than anything he did at ole Miss is really encouraging.

As a head coach he’s never coached a team with the talent he will have on these LSU teams.

He’s improved as a play caller and I honestly think he will
Be a better in game manager.

There were times Kiffin didn’t kick field goals or didn’t punt because he likely felt a TD was the only thing that would guarantee wins. I think he’s going to be much more confident in his athletes and his defense to where he doesn’t feel like he has to press

But I think his terribly unlikeable personality was much more the issue than his work ethic. Nobody liked that dude and nobody wanted to play for him. Remember he hired that DC PR firm to try to fix his image? That worked out poorly as expected

I completely agree. I'm glad our governor is a huge lsu fan. I dont know if this happens if he doesn't step in. I think Scott was going to give Kelly another year.

Lane did well but he didn’t recruit these guys in 3 days. Come on now.

His biggest task will be re-building our offense. But if he can get a quality QB and at least 1 tackle, we should be fine. That would be the minimum expectation. Watch him blow it up though.

Funny how with all the coaching openings no one seems to be interested in BK. Hmmm.

He had three days to convince them to stay. Nothing that happens in the months and years leading up to signing day means a thing if you don't close and get them to actually sign. When there are coaching changes, it usually means your recruiting class falls apart. He had to re-recruit these guys, which is especially hard in the NIL era, where you have to fend off not just good programs, but even mediocre ones with deep pockets.

Anyone who doesn't appreciate the job Lane did, in my opinion, does not understand this process.

Never attack Kelly, unless you connect it with Woody.
Woody is the clown that orchestrated that disaster.
