The idea of Tulane boosters withholding money is cute lol.

Maybe Lane can keep him.

Then it’s Baker. Napier just accepted JMU job. Start the search.

Tulane needs to pony up the NIL funds before Baker accepts

Which if OP linked post shows boosters are truly enraged, they will pony up.

Is the HC position at Tulane better than the DC job at LSU assuming they are strong contenders for the next few years? If LSU is winning and the defense isn’t the weak point, seems like that will lead to a major HC job just as fast as Tulane.

Seems like Baker has Tulane over a barrel and it's just a matter of time before they give in.

I mean Sumrall had potential offers of Auburn, LSU, UF, Ole Miss after only a year at Tulane… granted Sumrall does have more experience as a HC being at Troy before.

Baker needs to call Dave Aranda.

It's really a matter of what path do you take? There is not right, wrong, or better really. It's all about what Baker wants to do.

Make no mistake about one thing, Kiffin has already been working on the next DC if Baker leaves. I fully expect it to be a quick turnaround.

I didn't advocate for Napier to LSU nor did I think he would do good at LSU.... but I think he is a good coach. Maybe sometimes the program is bigger than you can handle (FLA) but can suceed at a lower-tier school.

Yes, Tulane HC is a better job than LSU DC. Better pay, better exposure as a HC. They've shown to be a good onramp for up and coming HCs.

Maybe. But he'd get paid more by Tulane and, assuming he does well there, he could still snag a big P4 gig.

Plus, Tulane is his alma mater, and he and his wife love South Louisiana. So Tulane may be thinking he stays a long time.

I would say that it has the better chance of getting an elite job over staying a coordinator based on this cycle of hires.

Hopefully Baker can make the right decision and stay at LSU.

Can't blame him for wanting more NIL money- you can't win with all 1-2 star players!

Blutman has deleted the tweet. Not sure what that means.

Honestly and I know LSU fans won't agree...but even if he makes the same at Tulane as he would as the LSU DC he can prove that he can run an entire program rather than just the defensive side of the ball. It really boils down to what Blake feels is his best path to a top program. Either way he is in a good spot.

As much as I like Baker, I would hire Huff over him in a second. He’s a good coach with plenty of experience.

Charles Huff is a darn good alternative.
