He'll leave as soon as he has any modicum of success.

Still don't know why Arkansas didn't go after him.

They got a bargain on who I think will be a great coach if OK St can give him resources and be patient while he fixes that dumpster fire

Good. In 2-3 years when Lane leaves us, we can hire him for 9-10 million annually.

Think of it as "try before you buy". If he has quick success, he'll get a new contract.

Gundy was making just under $7 million this year AFTER a pay cut

The last guy had success and stayed 20 years.

I’d like to look at the contract before trusting the report of someone that writes like this.

Just like he did at North Texas. Or Incarnate Word before that. Both stops he’s made, by the 3rd season, he had 1 loss seasons.

Do you know what trends are?

What makes you think he will be a flop? How many North Texas games have you sat and watched? How about how many Incarnate Word games before that?

Let’s say you have watched a ton of those games, what is it about him that makes him a failure?

Agreed. Also put Blake baker in the incubator, we should have some options.

It goes beyond his head coaching record. Look at the QBs he has recruited and developed.

It’s going to be nearly impossible to win at Oklahoma State and he’s still not a proven commodity at all. North Texas got clipped by 30 by the only real team on their schedule.

It may work out, but there’s A LOT more risk and unknown here that many posters want to admit

In the last two seasons, I’ve probably watched 7 or 8 and monitored more.

Blake can go to Tulane, win some conference championships make the playoffs a few times then head back to red stick when Lane moves on.

Sounds like a deal?

sounds like they had leverage and used it. If he has success they will give him a new contract.
