Did you really have to ask if anyone here would still be quoting a joke that’s old enough to have gotten its doctorate degree?

Yes - I'm sure that doctorate degree cost about $350k

The Succubus episode, which contains the universally acclaimed $3.50 reference, first aired on April 21, 1999.

TigerDroppings, however, started its operations in August 2001 with a mission to use the Internet to inform billions of LSU Tiger fans around the world. Its motto is to give you the 'poop' on LSU Sports, write 'shite' about LSU Sports, to tell you about any 'movements' happening down in Death Valley...you get the picture. TigerDroppings

Nevertheless, the $3.50 joke was not told on TigerDroppings until several years later. Certainly, it didn't not reach widespread use for many years. At best, the joke would be an undergrad.

At this point, the 3.50 joke is the 20something year old that still hangs around his local high school talking about ‘the good ol days’

That line has been ran into the ground so much, for so long…. It’s just not funny anymore, yet people just can’t stop themselves from posting terrible, overused one liners

People need to recognize that it is not a joke anymore.

It's a shibboleth.

Obviously depends on how good they are. We had UNC pay one of our kids $150,000. He’s probably top 30 or so in the state.

My buddys son was offered 650k to go to Ole Piss. Andrew Maddox.
Bo Davis offered 450k at that time before he left for the saints. He straight up asked him in front of me that wasnt the offer when you were at texas. He shrugged and said im at Lsu now!
He said Ohio State offered the most 800k plus Texas am and Ole Piss in the 650k range for 1 year.

And for a 5 star #1 WR in the country. A Million plus in NIL deals and alot from the school from what Tristan Keys and his Mom hinted at. I havent talked to Tristan simce the season started. Hes been out the last few weeks but will play in the championship game this weekend against Warren Central.
Crazy that they only crossed the 50 yard line once against us early in the season. There only points came of a fumble return fir a td.
My son had 2 tds in that game

1MM per year for a WR out of HS is an awful investment.

If it’s true we have 25-30MM total for the entire team then I’ll say that’s a shite deal.

Starting transfers are going for 2-3 million right now with elite transfers in the 4-6 million dollar range. Friend of mine's son transferred from Penn State to Texas and banked 4 million this year.

I’ve routinely seen 400-500k thrown around by G5 schools. It’s crazy the amount of money being thrown around.
